Lot 184.  Great group of 4 E254 Colgans Chips including Honus Wagner and Cubs infield of Tinker, Evers, Chance and Steinfeldt. All cards are at least excellent.

Lot 185.  Extremely nice group of 19 Wheaties panels including a Series One Gehrig (vg-ex) and a “Biggest Thrills&..” Joe DiMaggio (vg). Includes 12 from Series One almost all in excellent or better condition with full frames (Armstrong, Cochrane, Berger, Bridges, Foxx (pinhole), Goslin, Jackson, Klein, Schumaker and Simmons). Ott has no frame and is fair. 6 Panels from the “How to Star in Baseball” series including Dickey (gd, 2 punch holes), Bonura (fair-gd), Gehringer (vg-ex), Vaughan (vg), Hubbell (vg-ex), Lewis (vg-ex) and Herman (gd, 2 punch holes). And the previously mentioned DiMaggio.

Lot 186.  16 M101-1 Sporting News and 8 1898 National Copperplate Supplements. Many believe the supplement sized (9” x 12 1.2”) 1898 National Copperplate issue was the model, if not the proofs for the 1899 to 1900 Sporting News Supplement issue, their first. The significant collection of 8 National Copperplates offered here awith many big name HOF’ers including Cap Anson Chi (vg, some minor paper loss), Kid Nichols, Boston (ex+), Chief Zimmer, Cleve. (ex), Michael Griffin, Bklyn (ex), G.M. Goar, Cinc. (ex), Thomas Dowd, St. L (ex), Robert Becker, Phil. (vg) and George Gilpatrick, Phil. (fair, corner piece missing; The M101-1 Sporting News include Hugh Duffy (vg), Wilbert Robinson (good), Cy Young (vg-ex), George Davis (gd), McGraw (vg-ex) and 13 others most of which are in very good condition. One is fair with tape on the sides.

Lot 187.  Group of 43 M101-2 Sporting News Supplements including Joe Jackson, Crawford, Joss, Johnson-Street, Marquard, Alexander, Collins, Speaker, Young-Criger, Wheat, Wallace, Chase and Joe Wood. The group has been subjected to water and some stains show, mostly on the rear, but some on the front. The Jackson shows the stain lightly on the front and there is a small bite at the top. The Wood has a rare ad back with the checklist for the set and is the only one that has been folded. Overall, the stains aside an excellent group.

Lot 193.  4 M116 Sporting Life. All Rare series cards including Ray, Western league, Meloan, Chicago, Linke, Cleveland and rare Krueger, Sacramento. The last three cards are interesting for print errors in the caption. The Linke (sic) and Krueger are barely readable. The Meloan is a little better. The Krueger is a highly desired card as it’s the only PCL card in the M116 set. All cards except Krueger have team names penciled in at the tops of the card. The Linke is hard to see, Excellent + with note to the writing.

Most of the cards have gray-green album page remnants on the back of the cards. Those that don’t have back damage and/or scotch tape remains. The McQuillan has a light wrinkle on the front, and some paper remnants and some back damage on the rear; Hall of Famers: Wagner, E. Lot 198.  R303A Goudey Premiums group of 36 different. All cards appear ex-mt but there is light stain on the rear at the top of the cards. Hall of Famers in the group are Averill, Crosetti, Dickey, Gomez, Herman, Lombardi, Simmons, Vaughn and Ted Williams.
