Lot 37. N172 Old Judge Fischer, Chicago Maroons. Very rare card. One of the very difficult Chicago Maroons. 1888 card has a light wrinkle in the upper left corner, otherwise, very well centered, excellent photo quality and a perfectly clean back.

Lot 39. Two better 1889 N172 Old Judge cards. First the ambidextrous pitcher Tony Mullane, who won 284 games in the 1880’s appears on an excellent + condition card with great photo quality and a clean back. The second card is an 1889 Umpire, Wallace Fessenden and is also in excellent condition.

Lot 40. Four N172 Old Judge Chicago N.L. players including two Maroons. The two Maroon cards, both 1888, include the great Herman Long at the start of his career, in excellent condition despite an impression in the lower left corner and Dunn in very good condition. The two National League Chicago cards are both 1887 and include Fred Pfeffer (ex-mt) and Mark Baldwin (a nice vg, with some minor paper loss along the right side).

Lot 42. Five N172 Old Judge Washington N.L. players. Includes Jack Farrell (1887, #0166, ex-mt), Alex Ferson (1889, very good +), John Irwin (1888, very good), Jeremiah Murray (*1888, vg-ex) and George Shoch with Mgr. John Gaffney behind (1888, excellent +).

Lot 45. Two N172 Old Judge cards of Arthur Irwin , the highly regarded shortstop of Harry Wright’s Philadelphia team. Both are numbered cards from the 1887 series (“076” and “079”) and are excellent.
