Lot 186.  1923-4 Exhibit partial set of 48 cards, missing 10 (Ruth, Gonzalez, Leibold, Luque, McInnis, Morrison, O’Neill, Ruel, Sand and Veach). Highlights: Stengel (gd), McGraw (vg-ex), Bottomley (ex), Hartnett (vg), Sewell (fair), Simmons (fair). Balance: 1 card ex-mt, 8 cards excellent, 20 cards very good, 6 cards good, 6 card poor-fair.

Lot 187.  1925 Exhibit partial set of 82 and 17 1926 Exhibits. Highlights: Bancroft (vg-ex, autographed), Carey (vg), E. Collins (ex), Coveleskie (gd), Cuyler (vg-ex), Goslin (ex), Harris (ex), Hartnett (vg), Heilmann (vg), Hooper (vg-ex), Johnson (vg-ex), Ruffing (vg-ex), Sewell (ex), Shalk (vg), Speaker (vg), Traynor (ex-mt), Vance (gd-vg). Balance: 6 cards ex-mt, 24 cards excellent, 25 cards very good, 9 cards good, 1 card fair. The 1926 include 8 excellent including Gehringer.

Lot 188.  Very rare Near set of 29 World’s Champions from 1925. Presumed to be missing 3. The set includes names such as Babe Ruth (vg-ex), Willie Hoppe (ex), Jack Dempsey (ex), Olympic Ice Skater Charles Jewtraw (ex), wrestler Ed Strangler Lewis (ex), a rare hockey card of Al Stinson (gd-vg), swimmer Helen Wainwright (ex) and Bill Tilden (vg). Balance: 16 cards excellent, 2 cards vg-ex, 2 cards very good, 1 card gd-vg.

Lot 189.  1928 Pacific Coast League Exhibits. Two copies of Hal Rhyne (1 ex-mt, 1 excellent) and Fuzzy Hufft (ex+).

Lot 190.  17 1929-30 Four in One Exhibit cards including 2 with Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig in different colors. The cards form a complete group of all 16 cards in the American League half of the set. The two Ruth-Gehrig cards are excellent the balance are ex-mt.

Lot 191.  Extremely rare set or near set of 30 Olympians from 1932. Blue tinted set even rarer than the above 1925. Names include Babe Didriksen, Buster Crabbe, Eddie Tolan and Helen Madison. Tolan, nicknamed “The Midnight Express” was the first black athlete to win a gold medal in the Olympics. Since Exhibit sheets were printed in sheets of 16 or 32 cards, it would seem likely there would be two additional cards. However, 16 years of looking have not only not produced the possible missing subjects, but rarely produce any cards at all. The thirty cards include 13 cards with American athletes and the balance are from all over the world. The remarkable set is in ex-mt condition.

Lot 192.  Exhibit Supply Co. 1933 nr set of 14 missing Phila NL and Phila. AL (Set 10). The second most difficult of the four-in-one sets. Players included are Maranville, Lopez, Vance, O'Doul, Hafey, Lindstrom, Paul & Lloyd Waner, Frisch, Lyons, Averill, Gehringer, Ruth, Pennock, Lazzeri, Dickey, Farrell, Goslin and Manush. The Ruth, Pennock, Lazzeri and Dickey is ex-mt. Cleveland and Brooklyn are excellent. 5 cards are ex-mt and six are excellent. Beautiful and very difficult set.

Lot 193.  Exhibit Supply Co. 1938 near set of 14 missing Phila. AL and Brooklyn (Set 15). The final four-in-one set as the Exhibit Supply Co would turn to the Salutation style of card. The 1938 set, which is completely sepia, ranks as the third most difficult four-in-one set behind the 1931-2 and 1933. The key Gehrig-DiMaggio card is excellent, NY NL and Ch NL are vg-ex, Detroit is good, Bos AL and Wash. are gd-vg, the remaining 8 cards are ex-mt.

Lot 194.  1939-47 Salutation Exhibit near set of 83 missing Gehrig. Beautiful set with many cards near mint. Highlights: Averill (nr mt), Dean (ex), Dickey LR (gd), 2 DiMaggios (both ex+-mt), Feller-Port (ex-mt), Foxx (nr mt), Gehringer (nr mt), Gomez (nr mt), Greenberg VTY (nr mt), Grove (ex), Holmes SY (ex-mt), Klein (ex+-mt), Kreevich (nr mt), Lombardi-Cordially (ex+-mt), Mulcahy (ex+), Newson (nr mt),. Reiser-LR (nr mt), Rizzo (nr mt), Russell (gd), Williams #9 (nr mt). Balance: 56 cards ex-mt or near mint, 9 cards excellent, 5 cards very good, 5 cards good, 1 card fair.

Lot 195.  1947-1966 Exhibit set of 361. Includes subset of 16 team cards (average ex-mt) and many variations. A few cards are autographed, e.g. Berra, Craig, Koufax, Maris . Other Highlights: Larry Berra- (ex-mt, autographed), Cunningham-Port. (ex+), Ford-Port (nr mt), Kranepool (nr mt), Mantle -Port. Lot 196.  1963 Stat back Exhibit sets in 2 sheets of 32 cards each. Sheets show complete set as issued with red printed backs. Both sheets show some light creasing which is not apparent from first glance. Set includes Mantle, Mays, Clemente, Maris, Musial, Koufax, etc. Very good.
