Lot 204.  Reach Baseball Guides run of 18 from 1883 through 1900. Some Ex Seymour Church. All books are complete with original covers. 1883-86 is bound into one book, individual guides are Vg to Ex except 1886 is Good with tape; 1887 (Vg with tape on covers), 1888 (Vg-Ex with chip off FC corner), 1889 (Good-Vg, covers repaired), 1890 (Hardbound, Ex); 1891 (Vg-Ex, spine Good), 1892-1900 (Ex) are in four Hardbound volumes encompassing 1892-93, 1894-95, 1896-97, 1898-2000 with name “S. R. Church” engraved on the front cover, a reference to Seymour Church, author of the rare and magnificent 1902 book, “Baseball 1845-1871.”

Lot 205.  Magnificent and very rare 1909 yearbook style book “Evolution of Chance’s Champion Chicago Cubs. 36 page 10” x 7 book with Chance on the cover and dozens of illustrations including 3 foldouts which open to 16” Two of the foldouts show different views of an August 13, 1908 game with the Giants. The caption indicates McGraw’s coaching at 3rd, Donlin is at bat and Pfeister was pitching. The second foldout shows the same game with an unusual view from centerfield. The final pullout shows a 1907 Cub team picture by the Blondin studio. 17 of the pages show a Cub player inset in the upper corner of the page in a 1” cameo. Two other pages shows Cub offices with some amazing collectibles on the wall. Some of the pages have come loose from the staple but the book is in excellent condition.

Lot 206.  Phenomenal run of The Card Collectors Bulletin. The run, which was originally owned by Bill Knapp of Watervliet New York, starts with issue #31 from August 1, 1944 and continues through issue #232 issued in November 1981. As far as I can tell the only missing issues are #192 and #200, about 200 issues. The articles include Charles Brays famous auctions and you’ll find the fascinating prices realized in the following issue. You’ll find updates to the Burdicks American Card Catalog and you’ll find articles by the hobbies great names such as Jeff Burdick, Buck Barker, Walt Corson, Charles Bray. You’ll also see ads from such familiar names like Lawrence Kurzrock, Wirt Gammon, Gene DiNardo, Jake Wise, Woody Gelman, Sam Rosen, etc. The issues back in 1944 were 8 pages, In 1981 they had grown to 14 to 18 pages. The condition is remarkable and is almost ex-mt and better throughout with the usual mailing folds.

Lot 207.  The Trader Speaks. Generally considered to be the hobby’s bible in the formative years of the hobby. 16 year run missing just six issues between March 1969 and final issue in March 1984. Some issues have pen markings on the auctions, but not on covers or articles. Will be mailed to winner from owner.

Lot 208.  Sports Scoop. Arguably the hobbies best early magazine. 19 of the 20 issues issued from March 1973 through October 1974. Article by hobby greats like Keith Olbermann and Don Steinbach and general baseball talk. Some with markings, but not on covers.
