Lot 226.  Culver 6 5/8 x 4 1/8 photo from 1914 World Series featuring Athletic and Boston Brave players. High quality photo, probably taken by photographer George Bain, shows caption "Presenting Collins with Car at World Series, Phila. 1914". Players are all clearly visible including Collins, Bender, Plank and Maranville. Winning Bid $250.

Lot 227.  1917 N.Y. Giant 8" x 10" wirephoto with Jim Thorpe, John McGraw and George Kelly. Incredible photo taken in Polo Grounds with filled stands and outfield advertising very much in view. A lineup of 14 Giants are carrying various flags across the infield. Leading the pack is McGraw carrying "Old Glory 1917". Second from the left is Jim Thorpe carrying "Belgium Flag" and second from the right is George Kelly carrying "Flag Portugal. Kelly autographed the photo above his picture. Other identifiable Giants are Red Murray, Dave Robertson, Slim Sallee, Pete Kilduff, Walter Holke and George Smith. The photo has a tiny piece missing from the lower right in the border and there is some creasing in that corner, otherwise excellent. From George Kellys estate. Winning Bid $477.

Lot 228.  Magnificent 1931 Tour photo showing the American team and the Japanese teams. The photo, of the highest quality, is 10 3/4" x 9 1/2", and includes Frankie Frisch, Ralph Skinner, George Kelly, Mickey Cochrane, Willie Kamm, Larry French, Al Simmons, Herb Hunter and Rabbit Maranville.The photo is housed in an attractive cardboard matte. The year 1931 is written in pencil at the lower left corner. Ex+-mt. Winning Bid $200.

Lot 229.  Terrific group of 20 wire photos or original photos from George "Highpockets" Kelly's estate. Four are autographed by Kelly. The pictures show Kelly at various stages of his career with the Giants, Cubs, Reds,. Etc and many show him with groups of teammates. Two especially nice photos show a pair of wire photos taken of 8 Giant players including Kelly, Hughie Jennings, Frankie Frish, Irish Meusel, etc. The two pictures were taken seconds apart. The first one shows Jennings with his eyes closed, the second one shows a more flattering Jennings. Another photo shows 5 players from the 1921 Giants including Kelly, Frisch and Dave Bancroft; Overall an excellent group with just a few minor problems. Winning Bid $363.
