Lot 72.  Complete set of 5 stubs from 1941 Dodgers-Yankees World Series. Games 1 and 2 at Yankee Stadium are very good and excellent respectively, Game 3, 4 and 5 at Ebbets Field are vg, vg and good. Game 4 was the historic game when Mickey Owen dropped the final strike in the ninth inning allowing the Yankees to take a 3-1 lead in the series and go on to win in 5.

Lot 73.  Complete set of 7 stubs from 1947 Dodgers-Yankees World Series. An historic World Series because of Jackie Robinson's presence in his rookie year and augmented by two never to be forgotten plays. First, in Game 4 when Bill Bevans had a no hitter and a 2-1 lead going into the ninth inning, which was broken up by Cookie Lavagetto's two run double off the wall and then a remarkable catch by defensive replacement by Al Gionfriddo to rob Joe DiMaggio and preserve a Dodger victory in Game 6 and send the series to a seventh game. Joe DiMaggio homered twice in games 3 and 5. The Game 1 and 2 stubs at Yankee Stadium were torn into the rain check and are gd-vg, the important Games 3, 4 and 5, all at Ebbets Field are minimally excellent. Games 6 and 7 are very good.

Lot 74.  Complete set of 5 stubs from 1949 Dodgers-Yankees World Series. An easy victory for the Yankees. DiMaggio homered in the Game 5 final game. Game 1 and 2 stubs from Yankee Stadium are vg and excellent. The tougher Game 3, 4 and 5 stubs from Ebbets Field are excellent, very good and excellent.

Lot 75.  Complete set of 7 stubs from 1952 Dodgers-Yankees World Series. The series featured magnificent pitching by Dodger relief ace, Joe Black, 4 Home Runs by Duke Snider and Jackie Robinson's first World Series homer. Mickey Mantle homered in Games 6 and 7 and the Yankees won in 7 with help of a game saving catch by Billy Martin. A nice group of 7 stubs including 4 from Ebbets Field, averaging vg-ex. Game 7 has back damage.
Winning Bid $1,064.


Lot 76.  Complete set of 6 stubs from 1953 Dodgers-Yankees World Series. The Yankees won once again in 6 games. Mantle homered twice (games 2 and 5), Billy Martin hit safely 12 times. The lone Brooklyn highlight was Carl Erskine striking out a then record 14 to win the fourth game for the Dodgers. The three tough stubs at Ebbets Field are all excellent + including Erskine's outstanding performance. The 3 Yankee Stadium stubs are gd-vg, vg and vg-ex.

Lot 77.  Complete set of 7 stubs from 1955 Dodgers-Yankees World Series. Jackie Robinson stole home, Duke Snider hit 4 Home Runs, Manager Walter Alston made all the right moves, Sandy Amoros stuck out his glove, Johnny Podres became a legend and lives were changed. The stubs at Yankee Stadium, Games 1,2,6 and 7 are excellent, gd-vg, and gd-vg with the last two being cut slightly into the rain check. The Ebbets stubs (Games 3-5) are excellent-mint.

Lot 78.  Complete set of 7 stubs from 1956 Dodgers-Yankees World Series. Another 7 game series with the Yankees avenging the previous year in this last Brooklyn-New York World Series. Mantle and Berra each homered three times matching the entire Brooklyn output and Don Larsen was perfect in Game 5. The Brooklyn stubs (Games 1,2, 6 and 7 are all excellent+ except for Game 7, which has a light wrinkle), Games 3 and 4 are excellent and Game 5 is good with some back damage.
