9 Lots
Lot 203. W600 Sporting Life Cabinet Honus Wagner. Pinkish water stain of Wagner in uniform. Back has some paper remains along left edge from wrapper. Fair to good, but it is intact and it is the highly desired T206 pose.
Winning Bid $3,287.

Lot 206. T205 Gold Border Ty Cobb. Our consignor submitted this beautiful appearing card to GAI for grading and it came back with a "Recolored" designation. Close inspection indicates the possibility of some retouching in the upper left, but very questionable. The card appears to be proper size with a touch of wear at two spots on the top and a tiny speck at the bottom. A beautiful card.
Winning Bid $1,735.

Lot 207. Group of 3 Ty Cobb cards, T201 Mecca Doublefolder Cobb/Crawford, excellent but with a 1/4" tear on one side and an 1/8" on the other; T202 Triple folder of Cobb Stealing Third with Cobb and Jennings side panels (good) and an Eastern Supply Co exhibit with the Exhibit Supply Co. overprint (ex-mt).
Winning Bid $888.

Lot 208. Circa 1923 Babe Ruth Lections card. The mysterious issue first became known to the hobby in 1984 when a Schenectady, New York collector brought several to the Parsippany National. Only two other groups have surfaced and the amount of known cards of all subjects is believed to be about 35, with ten different players represented. It is believed the cards were a kids version of Election cards given to adults, thus the name. The offered card of Ruth is in good condition with some light creasing.
Winning Bid $5,191.

Lot 210. 1937 Donut Company of America Babe Ruth card. Part of a 72 card package design set where donut boxes had cards as part of the box. Set commemorating famous Americans including some sports figures. The Ruth card was cut badly and slightly entered the panel at Babe's name. There are some paper remains on the otherwise blank box from being pasted in an album. A slightly nicer example of Ruth brought $1,180 in our April 2005 auction.
Minimum Bid $500.
