Lot 412.  N172 Old Judge Biddie McPhee, 2d B, Cincinnati. Has become, with his recent induction to the Hall of Fame, one of the more difficult Old Judge Hall of Famers. The 1889 card is very good with no creases although there is a very light 1/2" wrinkle only on the back.

Lot 413.  N172 Old Judge Hall of Famers Clark Griffith and Tim Keefe. Two HOF'ers in lower grade. The Keefe has a severe horizontal crease and a stain on the back. The Clark Griffith, shown with Milwaukee is a light photo (as usual) and a speck of paper loss by Griffith's glove. Both cards are 1889. Fair-good.

Lot 414.  N172 Old Judge group of 9 cards. Highlighted by Tony Mullane and Jack Glasscock. Mullane, an ambidextrous pitcher, won 284 games in the 19th century and 30 or more 5 years in a row and many feel he should be in the Hall of Fame. A clean card, vith note to the rubber stamps on the rear, near ex. Glassock, another HOF candidate, has a 1/2"cut in the top photo layer of the card and is good. The other cards are Pickett, Philadelphia (tough), Dwyer, Chicago (2 different), Whitney, N.Y., Buckley, Indianapolis, Krock, Chicago and Horning Boston. The last has a tack hole and is an 1887 card, the rest are vg-ex and are all 1889 cards.

Lot 418.  Group of 10 Top Graded Bowman cards from 1949 to 1955 including 3 HOF'ers. Outstanding group with 3 HOF'ers. 1954 Robin Roberts is SGC 92 NM/MT+ 8.5 and the Balance are all PSA 8's. Aside from Roberts the group includes 1949 Joe Page, 1950 Casey Stengel and Preacher Roe, 1951 Leo Durocher and Ralph Branca, 1952 Chuck Deiring and 1954 Curt Simmons, Russ Meyers and Granny Hamner. Lot 419.  Group of 17 High Grade Topps Cards from 1953 to 1967 and a 1960 Fleer #28 Lou Gehrig all graded PSA 8 except two SGC 8. The group includes 1953 Johnny Logan and Don Hoak, 1955 Topps Zimmer (Rookie), Turley and Skowron, 1956 Topps Collins and Tanner, 1957 Topps Rice, Tanner and Pizarro and rare series' Bunning (Rookie) and Zimmer. Lot 420.  Lot of 3 High Grade Mickey Mantle Cards and 2 High Grade Roger Maris cards. All are PSA NM-MT 8. The Mantles are 1958 Topps All-Star #487, 1960 Topps All-Star High Number #563 and 1961 Topps Mantle Blasts 565 Ft. HR #406. The two Maris' are 1960 Topps All-Star High Number #565 and 1961 Topps All-Star High Number #576. All are near perfect cards.

Lot 421.  1955 Topps #164 Robert Clemente Rookie Card. Too late to get this graded but it should be. Extremely nice card and unusually nicely centered which is not common with Clemente's Rookie. We've measured the card and compared it to other 1955's and it looks fine. Ex-mt.

Highlights are an Anonymous Set 83 Exhibit of babe Ruth (vg), a 1935 Wheaties Fancy Frame of Lou Gehrig with the frame intact (vg, 3 pinholes), and a Leaf Joe DiMaggio (good, some writing on card). Nicest set we have ever seen with 42 issued and 7 variations in remarkable condition. 20 Sports stars and 1 variation (Tony Zale) and 22 movie stars with 6 variations. Sports stars include 2 Tennis (Budge (nr mt) & Hardwick (ex)), 5 baseball (Cavaretta (ex), Grove (nr mt), Tresh (nr mt), Trout (nr mt), Wakefield (vg-ex)), 3 Golf (Ferrier (ex-mt), Snead (vg-ex), Mangrum (nr mt)), 1 basketball (Mikan (ex+)), 5 football (Waterfield (ex-mt), McAfee (nr mt), 2 Trippi including a picture size variation (ex+, nr mt), Standlee (nr mt, badly o/c), Groza (ex+-mt)), 1 swimmer (Kiefer, ex-mt) and 1 boxer (Zale, 2 copies, both nr mt, one o/c). Movie Star Cards are in exceptional condition with 22 near mint and the balance of 6 cards vg-ex. The Album has an excellent appearance and is very good. Very rarely seen as a set and almost never seen in this condition.
