Lot 176.  Group of 4 seldom seen rare exhibits including Ruth & Gehrig. Group includes 2 4-in-1's not produced by the Exhibit Co and two exhibits showing celebrities on a background of stamps, one of which includes Babe Ruth. The two stamp cards are the "15" and "50" denominations from a larger set. The latter includes Ruth, Tom Mix, Jack Dempsey, Lindbergh, Charlie Chaplin and 3 other prominent entertainers. The other card shows 8 cowboys and entertainers. Both cards are in excellent + condition. The two rare 4-in-1's show poses from the Set 83 Exhibit series and the W517 set (both elsewhere in this auction) in what is believed to be a set of 4. One card contains Gehrig-Grove-Donahue-Cochrane. It has no creases but the unused postcard back shows some staining. The second four in one shows Judge-P. Waner-Kamm-T. Jackson and is near excellent with a clean postcard back.
Winning Bid $1,997.

Lot 177.  Group of 3 very rare Mixed sport 4-in-1's with Ruth, Cobb and Johnson. Little is known about these unusual 4-in-1 exhibits. The first card portrays Babe Ruth and Rogers Hornsby at the top and boxers Mickey Walker and Georges Carpentier below. The corner is clipped at the upper left. Has a minor pencil mark on the back and is otherwise clean. The second card shows Joe Judge and Ty Cobb at the bottom and fighters Eugene Criqui and Dave Shade above. The card has a stain at the upper right and is otherwise excellent. The final card shows Walter Johnson and Al Simmons at the top and Gene Tunney and Benny Leonard below. The card is heavily creased.
