Lot 216. Incredibly rare real photo postcard of 6 1915 Brooklyn Dodger pitchers in Spring Training. Was featured in the April, 1988 issue of The Old Judge. The card measures 9 3/4” x 3 1/2”. Writing in the lower border identifies the pitchers as Wheezer Dell, Leon Cadore, Ed Appleton, Goodrell, Chubeks and Sherry Smith. Written on the top border of the card is “1915 Rookie Pitchers Brooklyn National League”, though Dell and Smith came to Brooklyn from other teams. The postcard has the “AZO” designation with the arrows pointing upwards. The photographer’s name W.L, Coursen, Daytona, FL, is embossed in the lower left. The card has some creasing in the corners, the upper two corners have been reattached by tape. The photo quality is excellent and the postcard is unused. It’s probably one of a kind.
