Lot 173.  1892 N266 Lorillard Boxing group of 12 different for their Red Cross Brand. Nearly half the set of 25, the group includes Jackson-Slavin (good), Kilrain-Smith (good), De Baum-Campbell (good), Griffin-Lynch (gd-vg), Frazer-Daly (good), Murphy-Weir (fair-good), Mitchell-LaBlanche (good), Hall-Pritchard (fair, tear),  Choyinski-Goddard (fair-good), Dawson-Needham (gd-vg), McCoy-Reagan (vg) and Chambers-Clarke (gd-vg). All the backs are clean without paper loss or writing except the one noted above.

Lot 174.  1892 N266 Lorillard Boxing group of 8 different for their Red Cross Brand. A better condition group of 8 from the set of 25, all different from the above. The group is highlighted by Corbett-Sullivan (good), Mitchell-Burke (vg), Plummer-Kelly (vg-ex), Godfrey-Lannon (vg+), Carney-Mitchell (vg-ex), Donovan-McCaffrey (vg), Donovan-Johnson (vg-ex) and Ryan-McAuliffe (vg). All the backs are clean without paper loss or writing.

Lot 174a.  Interesting group of Boxing with Old Judge Boxing Card, 2 T9’s, rare set of early stamps and pair of celluloid pins from Patterson-Jackson fight. The 1887 Old Judge card is of La Blanche and is in excellent condition with a clean back; The T9 Turkey Reds are of #64 Wm. Papke (vg, with rubber stamp from previous owner on rear) #73 Al Kaufman (vg, with tiny spot of paper loss in right border); Two sheet lets of colorful stamps from the Dempsey Tunney fight measure 5 1/2” x 3 1/2” and are in excellent condition despite a minor separation in each; The 3/4 Celluloid pins of Floyd Patterson and Tommy “Hurricane” Jackson were issued before their Heavyweight title fight on July 19, 1957 (won by Patterson). The Jackson in is blue and the Patterson is red and both are in excellent condition.

Lot 175.  Very rare T219 Red Cross Frank Klaus. Incredibly rare back variation on the T219 set. The Red Cross is one of three backs on the T219 sets and is the one that’s virtually never seen. The card of Klaus has some creasing on the front and is otherwise clean.

Lot 176.  Group of Vintage Exhibits of Jack Dempsey (17), Gene Tunney (16),  Primo Carnera (9), Jack Sharkey (16) and Max Schmeling (10). 68 cards in all, some duplicates, mostly different, condition ranges from poor-ex-mt. Condition breakdown: Dempsey – 4 cards excellent or better, 6 cards very good, 3 cards good, 4 cards poor-fair; Tunney – 4 cards excellent or better, 5 cards very good, 1 card good, 6 cards poor-fair; Carnera – 5 cards excellent or better, 4 cards very good; Sharkey – 5 cards excellent or better, 7 cards very good, 2 cards good, 2 cards poor-fair; and Schmeling – 10 cards excellent or better;

Lot 177.  Group of 96 early boxing exhibits from the 1920’s and 1930’s. There are duplicates and cards are from various sets. About 65 cards are excellent to mint with the balance being good-very good. There are a few wrestlers.

Lot 178.  Group of 348 Green tinted Exhibits , circa 1930’s to 1950’s. The group includes duplicates and we would estimate is 75-80% ex-mt or better. Includes  Ezzard Charles (3),  Rocky Graziano (5), Jake LaMotta (3), Joe Louis (7), Rocky Marciano (4), Floyd Patterson (2), Ray Robinson (5) and Joe Walcott (4).
