Lot 158.  Group of 7 better vintage cards – T202 Hassan Triple Folders, 2 D304 General Baking and 2 T212 Obak. The triple folders are Close At The late/Payne/Walsh (ex), Catching Him Napping/Oakes/Bresnahan (ex), Chase Gets Ball Too Late/Mitchell/Egan (ex). The Two D304’s are a Bell, Brooklyn with a Brunners back (ex) and an O’Toole, Pitt. with a tougher Butter Krust back (good). The 1910 Obaks are Wolverton, Oakland and Nourse, Sacramento (both vg+).

Lot 159.  3 Very rare D382 Fleischman with tabs, all New York Giants. Includes F.M. Schupp (vg-ex, small corner crease), B.W. Kocher (ex-mt) and H.H. Hunter (ex-mt).

Lot 160.  W575 partial Sheet of 32 including Babe Ruth. The sheet has 4 rows of 8 cards each and features Babe Ruth in his famous E121 Series of 80 pose. There are 7 Hall of Famers featured in addition to Ruth including Alexander, Speaker, Johnson, Hornsby, Baker, Wheat, Sisler and Cobb in the bottom row. The sheet has been creased vertically down the middle just to the left of the Ruth card, and there are several other small problems such as small tears mostly in the margins, a tack hole just at the left margin of the Ruth card and a light stain. Still a remarkable one of a kind item.

Lot 161.  W590 Collection of 42 cards in strips of 10 and 5, a partial sheet of 10 and 2 cards. 2 strips of 5, 2 strips of 10 and one partial sheet of 8. One strip of 5 includes Walter Koppisch, a Columbia University football star, Earle Sande the jockey and 3 other athletes; the second strip of 5 includes Betsy Ross, 2 first Ladies and 2 other women; The strips of 10 are all baseball and show 11 Hall of Famers including Speaker Alexander, Frisch. The partial sheet has the same subjects as the strip with Koppisch and also famous tennis star Suzanne Lenglen, Golf stars Jim Burnes and Glenna Collett and Jack Dempsey. Most cards are excellent or better, one strip is ex-mt except for the last card (Rixey) and the other is very good and shows some wear. The partial sheet of 8 is mostly excellent. The two loose cards are Dauss (vg) and George Kelly (good).

Lot 162.  R306 Butter Cream group of 8 Hall of Famers. Includes Averill (gd-vg), Cochrane (fair, ink writing on rear), Hartnett (gd-vg), Lindstrom (good), Lyons with rarer no ad back (good, appears short), Simmons (good), Terry (vg) and P. Waner (ex, tiny spot on rear).

Lot 163.  R306 Butter Cream group of 7. Includes Brandt (good), Wes Ferrell (gd-vg), Gelbert (excellent), O’Farrell (good), Rommel with rarer no ad back (vg) Root (good) and Ruel with rarer no ad back (vg).

Lot 164.  R314 Goudey Type 3 (borderless) partial set. 13 cards from the set of 24. Includes Hank Greenberg (vg-ex) and three other HOFers - Simmons (ex), Appling (vg), and Manush (ex, name written on back). The balance are Bonura, Clifton, Cramer, Hudlin, Solters, Whitehill, both Vosmiks, and Trosky. Bonura is good, the others are vg-ex.

Lot 165.  1948-9 Spectacular group of 21 Leaf cards in extraordinary condition including 6 Hall of Famers. The group where nearly every card should grade near mint or above has razor sharp corners and white borders. Includes 7, 22 (some gum stains/remnants on rear), 11-Rizzuto (nr mt), 26, 29, 32-Spahn (nr mt), 39, 46-Mize (nr mt), 47, 50, 53, 59-Appling (nr mt), 61, 65, 72, 77, 83-Doerr (nr mt), 95, 117-Gordon (nr mt), 128 and 139.

Lot 166.  6 1949 Leaf Premiums Including 2 Ruths, Gehrig, Mathewson, Johnson and Cochrane. One Ruth is the light background (vg, corner crease), The second Ruth is the more common dark background with text in boxes. This one has damage along the left and pinholes at the top. The Mathewson and Johnson are very good. The Gehrig would also be very good except for a rubber stamp on the rear with associated pen writing. The Cochrane is fair due to a fairly large stain.

Lot 167.  1949 Brooklyn Dodger Photo Pack of 25. One of, if not the rarest of all the photos packs issued from 1930 to the mid-1950’s. As of a few years ago, the only other 1949 Brooklyn that existed was in an uncut sheet. The 6 1/2” x 9” photos are the same used in the 1949 Bowman set. The set includes Jack Banta, Rex Barney, Ralph Branca, Tommy Brown, Roy Campanella, Billy Cox, Bruce Edwards, Carl Furillo, Joe Hatten, Gene Hermanski, Gil Hodges, Johnny Hopp, John Jorgensen, Mike McCormick, Eddie Miksis, Don Newcombe, Erv Palica, Jake Pitler, Pee Wee Reese, Preacher Roe, Jackie Robinson, Burt Shotten, Duke Snider, Milt Stock and Clyde Sukeforth, All are ex-mt or better except for Shotten which has 1 1/2” tear. Comes which the original envelope, which has a small circular stain and a couple of tiny imperfections.

Lot 168.  1955 Brooklyn Dodger Photo Pack of 12. The first Jay Publication photo packs were issued in 1955 and this was the first issue for the Brooklyn Dodgers. Includes Jackie Robinson, Roy Campanella, Carl Furillo, Gil Hodges, Peewee Reese, Walter Alston, Don Newcombe, Carl Erskine, Johnny Podres, Clem Labine, Randy Jackson and Carl Furillo. All photos are near mint. The envelope has a label that has 1955 Brooklyn Dodgers Photos written on it.

Lot 169.  1956 World Series Photo Pack of New York Yankees and Brooklyn Dodgers. Jay Issued this special pack especially for the 1956 World Series, the 6th and last time the Brooklyn Dodgers and New York Yankees would ever meet in the World Series. There were 25 photos provided for each team and a special envelope was made for the issue. The Dodger photos include the same 12 in the pack above except for Podres and 14 new ones - Sandy Koufax, Jim Gilliam, Billy Herman, Jake Pitler, Joe Becker, Roger Craig, Al Walker, Sal Maglie, Chico Fernandez, Don Bessent, Ed Roebuck, Don Drysdale, Charlie Neal and Sandy Amoros. The Yankees included Casey Stengel, Mickey Mantle, Larry Berra, Bill Skowron, Frank Crosetti, Bill Dickey, Elston Howard, Hank Bauer, Don Larsen, Billy Martin, Tom Morgan, Bob Turley, Tom Sturdivant, Johnny Kuchs, Gil McDougald, Gerry Coleman, Charlie Silvera, Whitey Ford, Bob Grim, Billy Hunter, Joe Collins, Bob Cerv, Tommy Byrne, Jim Turner and Andy Carey. Condition is ex-mt, mostly mint.
