Lot 355. Contestants Badge for the 1940 Bing Crosby Pro-Am at Rancho Sante Fe. Bing Crosby’s world famous Pro-Am played on the Monterey Peninsula for many years actually started in 1937 at Rancho Sante Fe Golf Club. It was there for the years through 1942 and then resumed after WW II on Monterey in 1947. Any artifacts from the years at Rancho Sante Fe are extremely rare. This bronze contestant‘s badge, from the 1940 tournament, measures only 1”. The clasp is intact on the back and the badge is in excellent to mint condition. The 1940 tournament was won by Ed “Porky” Oliver.
