1965 Masters Contestant’s Badge with #5.

Lot 366. 1965 Masters Contestant’s Badge with #5. The red and white Badge belonged to Nick Weslock, which can be confirmed by checking the #5 on any 1965 pairing sheet. The 1965 Masters was the second Masters win for Jack Nicklaus easily defeating Arnold Palmer by an unheard of 9 strokes. Nicklaus finished 17 under par. The deficit would be a Masters record until Tiger Woods runaway in 1997. The badge is in near mint condition. While Nick Weslock is a name unknown to most of us, he in fact was one of Canada’s great amateur golfers winning seven Ontario Opens, 8 Ontario Amateurs and 4 Canadian Amateurs and is in Canada’s Hall of Fame.
