Lot 203.  Circa 1905-1910 real photo post card of the Huntington Avenue Grounds. The first home of the Boston Red Sox and the site of the first World Series in 1903. Extremely rare and in wonderful condition. Would be near mint except for the pencil writing “Huntington Av Grounds A.L. Boston” on rear in collecting great Buck Barker’s handwriting. “AZO” indicator in the stamp area with the arrows pointing upwards.

Lot 204.  Two rare Chicago based postcards. First, a 1914 E & S “T.S.” Postcard of Joe Benz. Very rare postcard of the White Sox pitcher. Only ten others are known in the set. A detailed drawing surrounded by relevant cartoons pertaining to Benz’ career. Date “1914” is written on the unused back in pencil and there is a 1/4” tear at the top. The second post card, is John Kling, Cub catcher from the 1908 “$” in Shield set featuring White Sox and Cub players. Unused with a corner crease in the bottom right.

Lot 205.  1908 AC Dietche Postcard set of 22. The Standard Catalog has virtually the same price for the 1907 and 1908 Dietche postcard sets. In truth, the 1908 set is significantly rarer. The offered set here is not in the best of condition however it is an opportunity to own a rarely offered set. Thirteen have a rubber stamp “Alex M. Mizner” on the rear including the Cobb. Highlights: Cobb (good, unused), Crawford (good), Jennings (fair). Balance: very good (4), good (11), fair (2), poor (2);

Lot 206.  1910 General Photo Harry Howell SGC 40 VG 3. Very rare postcard of the St. Louis Browns right hander. Card is unused and has a corner crease in the lower right,

Lot 207.  1914 E & S Publishing Postcard of “Shoeless” Joe Jackson SGC 50 VG/EX 4. E & S postcards are extremely rare (only 11 different subjects are known. The high quality drawings accompanied by related cartoons cartoon create a unique design for a baseball postcard set. The Jackson is believed to be the only one known. The front of the card gives an ex-mt appearance, while the rear of the unused card has a spot of glue residue on the top edge.

Lot 208.  1914 Royal Tailor Postcard featuring Frank Chance. Rare advertsing post card advertising a clothier and featuring Frank Chance. The card had a pre-printed message on the back to prospective customers and was postally used in 1914. The card has some chipping along the upper right border and is otherwise excellent.

Lot 209.  Circa 1906 Very rare Lawrence Semon post card of Rube Marquard. Very rare! A series of well done artistic drawings of ball players by a well known New York State artist named Lawrence Semon. The drawings are known as a series of New York Giant Newspaper supplements and a series of post cards. The black and white post cards can be found with or without the notation in red print “Sketched from Life By Lawrence Semon Cartoonist of The Evening Sun”. Not enough cards are known to determine if the cards with or without the red notation are scarcer. They are more attractive. The card of Marquard, the New York Giant Hall of Fame pitcher, is unused and there is a 3/4” crease in the lower right corner. There is a small piece of tape remaining at the upper left. The back is blank except for “1915” being written in ink above Post Card at the top.

Lot 210.  1907 Walford Tribune Hugh Duffy. Taken when Duffy was owner and Manager of Providence of the Eastern League. In excellent condition with a pencil written price on the rear.

Lot 211.  Recreation Park, San Francisco, Home of the San Francisco Seals from 1915-1930. The sepia toned card, showing a view from foul territory down the left field line is in excellent condition on the front. The rear has a water stain, is unused and shows the publisher as Pacific Novelty Company.

Lot 212.  Very rare, possibly one of a kind, private real photo post card taken during 1916 First World Series game at Ebbets Field. The card showing a view from left center field shows game action with the Sox in the field. The players have been neatly identified including the pitcher Carl Mays. The game is the first World Series game at Ebbets Field. The game was the 3rd game in the Series, was won by Brooklyn in a Series eventually won by the Red Sox. The photo shows some fading on the right. The AZO postcard (Arrows pointing up) has been unused but does have a pencil address written sloppily on the back.

Lot 213.  PC-unc. Wheaties Minneapolis Millers postcards. Ten cards from the very rare set of 24. The group includes Joe Hauser, the minor league Home Run Champion. The Hauser card is very good. 7 cards are very good-excellent (Norris, Tauscher, Ganzel, Van Denburg, Holsclaw, Ruble and Glenn. Two cards, Holland and Harris have been trimmed and have been addressed to “Harley Davidson”. The cards have post card backs with a Wheaties ad in the message portion and all but the two trimmed ones are unmarked except for VanDenburg which has a penciled address.

Lot 214.  Group of 22 comic postcards. Highlighted by Lotus Pub. featuring mention of Wagner, McGraw, Matty and Brown and DeWitt Wheeler ethnic color card. Also Ullman, Series 543, 2 Gardner & Bender, 4 Series 312, 4 Cobb Shinn, etc. Almost all very good to ex-mt.

Lot 216.  Group of 30 different Spring Training Stadium post cards. There are 19 linens and 11 early chromes featuring many from St.Petersburg and Bradenton, Also Clearwater, Dunedin, Lakeland Sarasota, Tampa, etc. Overall excellent +.
