Lot 80.  1930 Fleer Whiz Bang Gum set of 3 baseball - Lefty Grove, Goose Golsin and Gabby Hartnett. From the 2009 find of a box of these previously unknown cards. The box consisted of 83 including 15 baseball cards, The apparent set was 16 cards with 3 baseball (Grove, Goslin and Hartnett). Offered here is the set of 3 baseball cards. The set is near mint. Each card has two tiny factory punched slits which it is suspected would propel the cards. Included is a pack of "Whiz Bang" Gum and 3 strings that apparently would go through the two tiny slits. One of four sets known, a complete set of 16 is in the hands of the original buyer, another was sold in our 2010 auction for $5,331. See Lot 495 for a group of the non-baseball cards.

Lot 83.  R324 Goudey well above average set of 33. The last Goudey set issued in 1941. Usually found off-center and badly cut. The set contains only two HOF’ers, Hubbell and Ott, has five rare cards numbered 21-25 and all cards come in 4 different colors. Lot 86.  W711-2 Harry Hartman near set of the 1940 Cincinnati Reds. Originally offered as a 30 card set in a small box, when the Reds won the World Series in 1940, five additional non-player cards were offered. This set has the original 30 cards plus one of the additional. The box is also included which is complete and in very good to excellent condition. Highlights: Lombardi & McKechnie (nr mt); Balance: All near mint.
