Lot 442.  The Golfers Alphabet by W.G. Van T. Sutphen. A first edition 1898 book. Illustrated with plates from drawings by A. B. Frost. The pages portray a thought for each letter of the alphabet. A Library copy with book plate with several minor faults (some minor scratches, light soiling, a couple of rubber stamps and penciled codes and a slight weakening of the binding. The 9" x 8 3/4 black cloth backed is an original first edition by Harper & Bros, 1898 and is still a very good copy.

Lot 443.  A History of the Royal & Ancient Golf Club St. Andrews, 1754-1900. By H.S.C. Everard, 1907. 306 pages, illustrated with numerous plates from photographs and paintings and 9 color plates with tissue guards, some of which are the first color illustrations in a golf book. Measures 10" x 7 1/2" in the original green cloth First edition. Some minor wear at the spine. A classic book.

Hints on Golf, blue green cover on 4 1/2" x 6 3/4" cover. William Blackwood & Sons, 1896, 83 pps, excellent condition; 3. The Book of Golf and Golfers, red cover with gold logo, 6" x 9 1/4" cover. Longmans Green & Co., 1899, 316 pps, excellent; 4. The New Book of Golf, Gray 1/2" x 8"cover with picture, . Longmans Green & Co., 1912, 361 pps, very good with frontispiece loose;

Lot 445.  Golf Architecture in America: Its Strategy & Construction - George Thomas, 1927. Illustrated with numerous plates including 4 in color. 8 3/4" x 6" with blue-green cloth and green lettering. A first edition in mint condition.

Lot 446.  George Beldam The Worlds Champion Golfers: Their art disclosed by the Ultra Rapid Camera. A group of 4 volumes from an 11 volume set. Each 8 1/4" x 4 3/4" book includes a 24" folding plate with 36 sequential photos (as a flicker book) showing the golfers swing in motion and 16 pages of descriptive material of what’s inside. The volumes include 1 of Walter Hagan, 2 different of Roger Wethered and 1 of Joyce Wethered. About excellent condition.

Lot 447.  Two better hardbound golf books Song of The Links and Golf Course Common Sense. Songs of the Links by Robert Risk, Duckworth & Co., 1919, 80 pages, some spine separation, very good; Golf Course Common Sense by G.A. Farley, Farley Libraries, 1931, 256 pages, minor spine separation.

Lot 448.  Two classic volumes "The Life of Tom Morris" by W.W. Tulloch and The Story of Augusta National Golf Club by Clifford Roberts. Both volumes are in mint condition in especially made slipcases. The famous Tulloch book is a facsimile of the famous 1908 book which was reproduced by the USGA in 1992. The book by Roberts relates the entire history of Augusta National and the Masters and there is no shortage of Bobby Jones.
