Lot 501.  R133 Movie Stars set of 96. Skip numbered 1930’s set was issued in strips in various colors and almost all cards are excellent and better. Includes Shirley Temple, Jackie Cooper, Mickey Rooney, Joan Crawford, Gretta Garbo, Jean Harlow, Buck Jones, John Wayne, Tom Mix, Stan Laurel, WC Fields, Cary Grant, Oliver Hardy, Johnny Weismuller, Gary Cooper, Joe E Brown and Will Rogers.

Lot 502.  R136 National Chicle Skybirds partial set of 83. Fourteen of the missing 25 cards are from the 1-48 series. 27 of the 34 1-48 series are at least vg including Earhart, Lindbergh and Doolittle. 34 of the remaining 49 cards in the 49-108 series are at least very good. #108-Fokker D 8 is good. The missing cards are 4-5, 7-9, 11, 13-14,17,20-21, 23, 27, 31, 75-6, 91, 97-99, 101-103, 105, 107.

Includes First Column Defenders wrapper (ex+), Horrors of War wrappers in blue (ex), Horrors of War wrapper-cream (ex+), Horrors of War wrapper-yellow (ex+) , Indian Gum by Oh Boy Gum (ex), Goudey Indian Gum (ex+) and a different Indian Gum (vg), African Jig wrapper (vg) and a Big Game Peanut Blocks wrapper (ex+).

Lot 504.  1934 V360 World Wide Gum World War Gum set of 48. The Canadian version of the similar Goudey set. Backs are in both English and French. Rare and beautiful condition set. Forty cards are near mint with the rest excellent.

Lot 505.  F277-4b Heinz Airplanes near set of 24 missing #2 Schroeder. Second series set which replaced 7 pilots from the first series (Amelia Earhart, Howard Hughes, etc) because of their objections. Condition is mostly ex-mt to near mint with a couple excellent.

Lot 506.  World War II Brown & Williamson WINGS 20" x 30" advertising poster. Brown & Williamson issued a 200 card set, in 4 series of 50 airplane cards, called Wings during World War II. The cards are common but the advertising piece is rare. It shows a World War II Plane, 12 airplane cards and a Wings cigarette pack and is in excellent condition. Also included is a 15" x 21" display with 50 Wings cards.

Lot 507.  1941 R157 Gum Inc. Uncle Sam set of 96 + 1 R158. A below average set with 45 cards with a pinhole and are somewhat faded. The balance are very good-excellent except for 11 which are fair-poor. The R158 is #118 and is fair.

Lot 508.  1941 Gum Inc. R158 Uncle Sam Home Defense set of 24. The rare next to last series of the R158 Uncle Sam set. 24 cards numbered 97-120. Incredible condition with 18 cards near mint, 2 cards near mint, off-center and 4 cards near mint but appearing slightly short.

Lot 509.  47 1939 R165 War News cards. Includes 79, 85-102, 104-107 and the last series with "F-L-A-S-H" on the rear (121-144). The numbers below 108 are ex-mt to near mint. The "FLASH" series are mostly very good with a few good.

Lot 510.  1939 Gum Inc. R165 War News Pictures Last Series. Cards 121-144, all with "F-L-A-S-H" across the top on the rear. The last series of the 144 card "War News Pictures" set was the only series which were printed in this manner. The high grade subset contains 13 cards near mint and 11 cards excellent.

Lot 511.  1939 Gum Inc. R173 World in Arms subset of 24 "Sample" cards. Issued for 6 subsets, each of 8 groups. The "Airplane" group is alleged in the "non-sports Bible" to have the rare "Sample..." overprint, but the offered group show the overprint in all categories. The group includes Airplane (8), Ships (6), Field Artillery (2), Iron Calvery (2), Fortifications (2), and Miscellaneous (4). Incredible group with all cards ranging from ex+ to ex-mint.

Lot 513.  Sets of R757 Comic characters and T129 Redman Chewing Gum Tobacco Indian Chiefs set of 40 and a partial set of R714-25 Topps X Ray Gum. 1954 T129 Redman Chewing Gum Tobacco Indian Chiefs set of 40. Paper cards are excellent. 1949 R714-25 Topps X-Ray Gum partial set. These are tiny 7/8" x 1 1/2" cards with 134 different from the set of 200. Issued with Pixie gum tiny cards feature color pictures of Indians, Pirates, Western and other themes. Most cards are ex-mt or near mint. 1953 R757 James Welch (Nabisco) set of 50 card featuring Comic characters. Cards were issued with "Sugar Daddies" and featured 1950’s characters from comic strips such as Terry and the Pirates, Smiling Jack, Moon Mullins, Winnie Winkle, Gasoline Alley, etc. Cards are ex-mt to near mint, except for 5 which are excellent.
