Lot 141.  1956 Topps set of 340 plus both checklist cards and 4 variations including a very interesting one of Ted Williams. This is essentially a spectacular near mint to mint set. You can expect the condition that would be found from unopened packs including some off centering and a very occasional nick. There are some interesting variations including the afore mentioned Williams. One card of Williams show a green line above the white box containing his name in addition to the normal one with a yellow line. A similar pair with card and variation exist for Reese and Wynn in the set. Lot 142.  1956 Topps spectacular set with the original 340 cards, both checklists, 3 dated team cards and 136 white/gray back variation cards. A total of 472 cards. 325 cards are near mint (69%) and 429 are excellent or ex-mt (91%). Our consignor had a large accumulation of 1956 Topps and attempted to make a master set with all variations. He didn’t succeed, but came remarkably close. There are 178 of the 180 gray (G) back cards in the first 180 cards and there are 127 white (W) backs in that run. The missing gray backs are #5-Williams and #47.
