Lot 2. 1906 Sporting Life Postcard set of all 16 major league teams. Have only seen this set offered once before. Issued by Sporting Life in 1906 and showing all 16 major league teams in Composites that are the same as the Sporting Life W601 prints. The team composites take up the left 2/3 of the card and 1/3 is left for a message, All of major league baseball is represented from 1906 with 31 HOF’ers including Cobb, Wagner, Mathewson, Keeler, Young, Mack, Plank, Lajoie, Rickey, Hanlon, Beckley, etc. As nice a set that could exist. 13 cards are ex-mt to near, postally unused with perfectly clean backs. The Phillies card has a crease in the right corner on the message side, The Boston A.L. card is vg-ex and the New York A.L. card is very good, but carries a rare ad offering the set of either the National or American Leagues for five 2 cent stamps.
