1870 Athletic CDV.
Lot 3. 1870 Athletic CDV. A historic baseball relic pre-dating the National Association (1871-5). Several familiar names on this team composite of ten players. In the center is Dickie McBride, who many feel was the greatest pitcher of the National Association. Also pictured is A.J. Reach (at 11 O’Clock), Harry Schaefer (at 5:30). Other players are Count Sensenderfer, George Bechtel, Thomas Berry, Wes Fisler, Tom Pratt, John Radcliff and Fergy Malone. The names are readable and the photos are clear. There is a very light crease below the picture on the right. The photographer was John Gihon of Philadelphia. Excellent for this.
