Lot 5. PC- unc. Hull Chicago White Sox set of 16. One of the most difficult and graphic postcard sets ever made. Issued in 1907 and featuring White Sox. May be only set known. All the subjects of the set are shown in a circular portrait on a sock hanging on a clothes line. With Manager Comiskey in the lower left portion of each card. Players are pictured at the right hand side of the cards in a full length action pose. The players are Altrock, George Davis*, Donohue, Dougherty*, Hahn, Isbell*, Jones, McFarland, Owens, Patterson, Rohe*, Smith, Sullivan*, L. Tannehill* , Walsh* and White, Seven cards have ads for ther Morrison Hotel and Boston Oyster House (in Chicago) on the rear and these are noted above by an asterisk. The George Davis card is ex-mt and the Walsh is excellent +. The exceedingly rare McFarland is excellent with some minor pencil notation on the rear indicating the collection of Buck Barker. The balance of the set have 8 excellent cards and 5 very good.
