Australian Tour Cabinet of Ned Williamson.
Lot 32. Australian Tour Cabinet of Ned Williamson. The famous Stevens Studio in Chicago produced Cabinet photos for all the Chicago players who went on Albert Spaldings Australian Tour in 1888-89. The photos came on the market from a players grand-daughters estate in the 1980s. Williamson was a superlative infielder for Chicago in the 1880s setting league leading performances at both shortstop and third base. He also hit 27 Home runs in 1884, the league record until 1919. The Cabinet is in ex+-mt condition with almost all the gold leaf still present on the edges.
