Lot 240.  "Our Home Team" 1908 Chicago White Sox. From the innovative set of 5 team cards. Flap with "Our Home Team" inscribed opens to reveal an accordion style fold out showing 8 panels with 15 White Sox players (Walsh, George Davis, Altrock, Doc White, etc.). Has some pencil writing on the post card as well as in the borders of the player panels. Very good.

Lot 241.  S & H Pittsburgh Pirate Postcard. 1910 post card produced by S & H stamps featuring the Champion Pirates. Features a composite of 23 players. Reverse has ad for "S & H Trading stamps. Corner crease and some pencil marks on back. Very good.

Lot 242.  Terrapin Park, home of the Baltimore Terrapin Federal League Team. Very rare postcard showing the two year home of the Federal league team. Later was the home of the Baltimore Oriole International league team until 1944 when a fire destroyed it. The card is near excellent with two barely visible wrinkles.
Minimum Bid $200.


Lot 243.  1909 Atlanta Cracker Dick Bayless post card. In 1909, extremely rare oversize post cards were issued for members of the Atlanta team of the Southern League. Bayless was an outfielder for the the Atlanta team, who were league champions. The card has no creases but is stained on the upper left portion. Very good.

Lot 244.  PC757-1 A.C. Dietche Detroit Tigers full set of 15 postcards plus 11 very tough 1909 Dietches including the team card. 1907 Highlights: Cobb (vg-ex), Crawford (ex-mt), Jennings (ex), balance 10 cards ex-mt, 2 card vg; 1909 Highlight: Team (ex+-mt), balance are ex-mt.

Lot 245.  PC757-2 A.C. Dietche Chicago Cubs set of 15 postcards. A near mint set of the 1908 Cubs featuring Tinker, Evers, Chance and Brown. All cards have the shadow of photo corners that once mounted the cards in an album. Mentioned for accuracy only. As nice a set as I’ve ever seen.

Includes Cobb-Portrait (ex, tiny rub at right side), Cobb at Bat (near mint), Crawford (near mint), Jennings on the coaching line (ex+-mt), Donovan, pitching (near mint), Donovan at the Water Wagon (ex-mt), Downs (nr mt), Davy Jones (nr mt), Killian (nr mint), Mullin (near mint), Rossman (ex+), Schmidt (ex+-mt), Schaefer (nr mt), Schaefer and O’Leary (ex-mt) and Coughlin (ex+).

Lot 247.  PC786 Orcajo spectacular group of 45 real photo sepia glossy postcards produced by a Dayton Ohio photo firm. Only postcards of Cincinnati Reds were issued with one notable exception, that of Joe DiMaggio. There are 30 cards from the main Orcajo set. Highlights: DiMaggio (ex-mt), Lombardi (ex, 2 phs), McKechnie (nr mt), Vander Meer (nr mt), 1939 Team Card (fair, see photo); Balance are all ex-mt or better. There are three cards with the Metropolitan Clothing Store advertising — Lombardi, McCormick ad Vander Meer (all near mint); There are 12 cards with the Val Decker including Lombardi (nr mt), Roush (vg) and Vander Meer (vg-ex). The balance are ex-mt or better.

Lot 248.  Collection of the 1952-1983 St. Louis Cardinal team issued post cards. Large group of 313 cards starting with 13 "Dear Friend" cards, continuing with 22 with post card backs. Some autographs are present including a tough Fred Hutchinson and an Enos Slaughter. The balance are team issued post card sized cards with blank backs. Players include Allen (2), Brock (6), Carleton (3), Flood (2), Gibson (5), Hernandez (2), Maris, McCarver (3), Mizell (3), Musial, Schoendienst (5), Slaughter, Torre (5) and Bill White (2). Almost all ex-mt and better.

Lot 249.  Terrific group of 12 different 1955-60 Bill & Bob Milwaukee Brave postcards. Includes Mathews (ex). Five are authentically autographed (both Crandalls, ex-mt, vg), Burdette (ex-mt), Conley (on back, ex-mt), Conley, kneeling (on back, ex-mt). Others are Adcock, bat on shoulder (ex), Grimm (ex), Haney (ex), Covington (good), Torre with Pepsi bottle (ex-mt) and Buhl (ex). Also 5 different H.F. Gardner PC’s including 2 Hank and Tommie Aaron’s, one being a back variation, also Bruton, Lee Maye and Billy Williams (all ex-mt). 17 cards.
