Lot 12.  1934 Canadian Goudey uncut sheet with Lou Gehrig. The sheet has been beautifully matted to show the back as well as the front of the sheet. The sheet which measures 30" x 21 1/2" features 44 circular cards of 12 different players in alternating rows, 6 in a large design (5" in diameter) and 6 in a small design (2" in diameter) and is in a 40" x 30" matte . Minimum Bid $400.

Lot 16.  W501 set of 120 in 24 uncut strips of 5. A completely unique item which I auctioned in 1999. The W501 shares the same photos used in the E121 set except they are numbered in the upper left corner right above the picture. They are also blank backed. The number is the only way to distinguish them from W575’s (blank backed E121’s). The set has all the same stars as are in E121 including Ty Cobb (#8, ex-mt), Babe Ruth (#49, ex+-mt), Walter Johnson (#17, mint), Rogers Hornsby (#114, nr mint). The great majority of the set can be considered near mint to mint. The top strip has some staining at the top of the #1 card, the balance are all clean.
Minimum Bid $2,000.

Lot 17.  Amazing group of 36 in 12 mint R315 uncut strips of 3. This is virtually a complete set with the exception of the rarities which were not issued in this form. The group includes Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Goslin, Klein, Lindstrom, Hubbell, Wilson, O’Doul, Foxx, Vance, p. Waner, Lazzeri, Bottomley, Grimes, Simmons, Terry, Pennock and Grove. All 36 cards are near mint to mint.
Minimum Bid $1,000.

Lot 18.  1949 Sports Champions Exhibit Set on one Uncut sheet. Possibly "one-of-a-kind" sheet representing the entire rare 1949 printing of this popular sports set. In 1948, 32 cards were issued in black and white or green of 32 athletes. The 1949 issue was in blue, and featured 14 new subjects to be added to the original 32 issued in 1948. These are all considerably rarer than the 1948’s. Ben Hogan was added and his card alone has gone for over $2,000 in one of our previous auctions. Other key additions are Joe Fulks and Andy Phillips in basketball, and Marion Motley, Bob Waterfield and Glen Dobbs in football. Additional information on this set can be seen on our web page by clicking the Old Judge link and going to the end of the article. The sheet has some creasing in several places, but is overall in very good condition.
Minimum Bid $2,000.
