Lot 297.  1933 Ryder Cup Program at Southport & Ainsdale Golf Club in England. 1933 was the fourth Ryder Cup series. England won 6 1/2- 5 1/2 in a match that came down to the last putt. Britain would not win again for 24 years. The American team featured Walter Hagan, Gene Sarazen, Denny Shute and Craig Wood. The elaborate 64 page program included photos and bios of team members from both sides as well as team photos and recaps of the previous 3 Ryder Cup. Schematics of all the holes are also shown. The staples are missing from the program, thus the pages are loose, but this is easily remedied. A rare and historic program is in very good-excellent condition.

Lot 298.  1946 PGA Championship program at Portland Golf Club. Ben Hogan won his first major, defeating Ed Oliver in match play, 6 and 4. The 78 page program features photos and descriptions of each hole and contains many article. Some wrinkles and scratches on the front cover otherwise the program is in excellent condition.

Lot 299.  1920 U.S. Badge at the Inverness Club in Toledo Ohio. 1 1/2" red, white and blue numbered badge. Except for a 1914 would be the earliest known badge for a U.S. Open. Some minor soiling, otherwise excellent condition with the pin intact. Ted Ray won the tournament by one stroke over Harry Vardon (who was 50 years old), Jock Hutchinson, Leo Diegel and Jack Burke Jr.

Lot 300.  1930 U.S. Open Caddy badge at Interlachen just West of Minneapolis. Bobby Jones won the third leg of his Grand Slam in a somewhat controversial Open. He defeated MacDonald Smith by two strokes. The beautiful 1 3/4" Caddy Badge is in excellent condition.

Lot 301.  1931 PGA Championship Badge from Wannamoisett Country Club in Providence. A near mint appearing 1 3/4" badge for the Championship saw unknown Tom Creavy upset Denny Shute in one of the more exciting PGA’a. There is a 1/4" tiny crack in the plastic that is barely noticeable.

Lot 302.  1937 U.S. Open badge for the Open won by Ralph Guldahl over Sam Snead. Was played at Oakland Hills, outside of Detroit. The offered badge was used by a member of the Detroit Press. Excellent.

Lot 303.  2 Contestant Badges and 1980 U.S. Open Badge. One contestant badge for the 1935 Intercollegiate Championship has the same style used for the U.S. Open in the thirties. It’s in excellent condition. The second badge, measuring 2" x 1 1/2", was for the 1932 Pacific Northwest Amateur Public Links. Also in excellent condition. The final badge is a Committee Badge for the 1980 U.S. Open at Baltusrol in New Jersey won by Jack Nicklaus (ex). Championship.

Lot 304.  1953 U.S. Open member Badge at the Pittsburgh Field Club. 1953 Ben Hogan had the greatest year of his golfing life, winning five of the six tournaments he entered including the U.S. Open at Oakmont. In Pittsburgh. Hogan topped Sam Snead easily by five strokes. A desirable Member’s badge for the qualifying round of the Open played at the nearby Pittsburgh Field Club. A mint badge, measuring 1 3/4" in diameter.

Lot 305.  1955 Ryder Cup Patch/Badge. Worn by and obtained from Marty Furgol who wore this patch in the ’55 Ryder Cup, which was won by the United State 8-4. Approximately 4" with a couple of minor flaws but beautiful appearance and excellent.

Lot 306.  Unprecedented Run of 45 U.S. Open badges from 1954-1998. Includes season ticket holder, Staff, press, Photographers. Caddies, etc. badges. A wide variety arranged in plastic pages in a three ring binder. Highlights includes a 3" 1960 Press Season Grounds and Clubhouse badge (mint) commemorating Palmer’s amazing victory at Cherry Hills in 1960 when he defeated an Amateur named Nicklaus by two strokes. Another 3" badge commemorated Nicklaus’ first Open victory in 1962 at Oakmont. Other Nicklaus victories are commemorated from 1967, 1972 and 1980 as well as those of Gary Player, Tom Watson, Hale Irwin, Payne Stewart, Ernie Els and others. Virtually all are excellent or ex-mt or better.

Lot 307.  Subset of 5 (of 6) Golfers from the T218 Champions set. Extraordinarily nice condition group grading all ex-mt and better. Includes Douglas, Hobens, Low, Nicholls and Smith.

Lot 308.  1926 Imperial Oil Co set of 6 "Perils of Early Golf". A premium 11 3/4" x 9 1/4" set with unusual design. Serial # 13813 in lower left, Titles of each card at lower right. Difficult set. Excellent.

Lot 309.  1930 Sweetacres Chewing Gum #35 Bobby Jones. A set of 48 sports stars issued in Australia featured three golfers including Bobby Jones. It’s noteworthy that 1930 was the year of Jones’ Grand Slam. The card is very rare and measures 2 1/4" x 1 3/8". Ex+-mt.

Lot 310.  1927 Churchman Famous Golfers Set of 50. Beautiful set with almost all cards ex+-mt or near mint. Highlights: Jones (Nr mt, ex+-mt), Braid (ex+-mt, nr mt), Hagan (nr mt, nr mt), Morris (ex+-mt, Vardon (nr mt, ex+-mt, nr mt, nr mt).

Lot 311.  1928 Churchman Famous Golfers (Large) Set of 12 (2nd Series). More difficult set features Tom Morris. 1 card very good, 2 cards vg-ex, 8 cards excellent including Morris and 1 card ex-mt.
