Lot 306. Unprecedented Run of 45 U.S. Open badges from 1954-1998. Includes season ticket holder, Staff, press, Photographers. Caddies, etc. badges. A wide variety arranged in plastic pages in a three ring binder. Highlights includes a 3" 1960 Press Season Grounds and Clubhouse badge (mint) commemorating Palmer’s amazing victory at Cherry Hills in 1960 when he defeated an Amateur named Nicklaus by two strokes. Another 3" badge commemorated Nicklaus’ first Open victory in 1962 at Oakmont. Other Nicklaus victories are commemorated from 1967, 1972 and 1980 as well as those of Gary Player, Tom Watson, Hale Irwin, Payne Stewart, Ernie Els and others. Virtually all are excellent or ex-mt or better.
