Lot 19.  Ten volume Preston Orem series (1882-1891)- “Baseball From The Newspaper Accounts”. Most serious collectors of 19th Century are familiar with Preston Orem’s work “Baseball From the Newspaper Accounts 1845-1881”, a popular and fairly easy to find account of early baseball. Of significantly greater rarity is the eleven volumes Orem did subsequently consisting of spiral bound books. Interestingly the pages in the books are consecutively numbered and they total 628 pages. Offered here are the last nine volumes with a Xerox copy of the first volume (1882). We offered a complete set about ten years ago which went for $2,000+. We have not seen one since. Excellent +. Lot 20.  A17 Allen & Ginter Second Series Album. Classic example of 19th Century Lithography featuring 12 inside pages illustrating the 50 card N29 Allen & Ginter set including the six baseball players- Buck Ewing, Jimmy Ryan, James Fogarty, Charles Getzein, George Miller and John Morrill. Beautiful condition copy with only minor creasing along the spine and a bit of wear at the lower right corner. The back cover has lower corner creases. The contents are near mint. Minimum Bid $1,000.

Lot 21.  2 Allen & Ginter Black Stocking Nine Women’s baseball player Cabinets. Made under their Virginia Brights brand and dated 1884 on the cards. One card is vg-ex as it has a triangular chip between the “G” of stocking and the “N” of nine. The other is excellent., Minimum Bid $600.

Lot 22.  Imperial sized (4 7/8” x 7 3/8”) Virginia Brights “Black Stocking Nine”. Beautiful ornate cabinet with red leaf intact on the edges. Minor paper disturbances on rear do not detract from a rare and excellent cabinet. Minimum Bid $500.

Lot 23.  “Young Ladies Base Ball Club No. 1”, 1890-1 Cabinet portraying Women’s baseball team. Standard sized cabinet depicts nine players, identified at the bottom, in uniform. Excellent. Minimum Bid $400.

Lot 24.  1886 Lorillard Trade card of the Champion Chicago Team with the 1886 schedule on the rear. The team featured Cap Anson, Mike Kelly, John Clarkson, George Gore, Ned Williamson, Fred Pfeffer, etc. One of baseball’s greatest all-time teams. The trade card has two tiny “bites” in the border at the top and slightly down the right side. There is also minor paper loss on the rear in the upper left corner. Otherwise the back is completely readable and the front has a nice appearance. Very good without consideration of the two “bites”. Minimum Bid $1,000.

Lot 25.  N135 Duke Talk of the Diamond set of 25. Very popular set combining baseball player poses and scenes portraying baseball slogans. Some of the player poses were used in the Buchner series. Unusually nice condition for these. 5 cards are ex-mt, 6 cards excellent, 9 cards very good, 4 cards good, 1 card fair. Minimum Bid $1,500.

Lot 26.  E223 G & B Brady, Jersey City. Steve Brady’s major league career was over when this rare G & B was issued. His last major league team was the American Association’s New York Metropolitans in 1886, which accounts for the “Spotted Tie” pose. A very rare card with a nice photo and staining on the back., Very good. Minimum Bid $1,000.

Lot 27.  N28 Allen & Ginter Cap Anson & Charles Comiskey and N29 Allen & Ginter George Miller. The latter is PSA EX 5. The N28 Anson is gd-vg with a stain in the upper right and on the back. The Comiskey is near excellent. Minimum Bid $500.

Lot 28.  2 N162 Goodwin Champions Of Mike Kelly and Bob Caruthers. Kelly (good, horizontal creasing) and Caruthers (gd-vg, light crease and some soiling on rear). Minimum Bid $500.

Lot 29.  Nice lot of 3 N172 Old Judges and a color Tobin Litho of Cap Anson from the set of 10 (very good-excellent). The three N172’s are an 1889 Brouthers, Boston (excellent), and 1887 cards of Dalrymple, Pittsburgh and Bishop, Pittsburgh (both excellent. Minimum Bid $600.

Lot 30.  N284 Buchner Gold Coin Type 3 Cap Anson Beautiful excellent + card of Anson. Not the generic Type 1 Buchner but the much rarer and more desirable one with the actual picture. Minimum Bid $750.

Lot 31.  N284 Buchner Gold Coin Mike Kelly. The more difficult Type 3 and a real portrayal of Kelly. Ex-mt front. Minor soiling on the back. Minimum Bid $750.

Lot 32.  N284 Buchner Gold Coin Roger Connor. Beautiful Type 3 card of the Giant HOF first baseman. Clean well centered front with slight soiling on the rear. Excellent +. Minimum Bid $600.

Lot 33.  N284 Buchner Gold Coin Buck Ewing. Beautiful actual picture of the Giant Hall of Famer from the Type 3 series. Ex+-mt. Minimum Bid $600.
