November 16, 1940 Dartmouth-Cornell program. Famous “5th Down Game”.

Lot 299. November 16, 1940 Dartmouth-Cornell program. Famous “5th Down Game”. Played at Dartmouth’s Hanover campus. Cornell won the game on a disputed play with 3 seconds left when they were given a “fifth down”. Movies substantiated the error and Cornell relinquished the victory and Dartmouth was awarded a 3-0 victory. Cornell was undefeated that year and the previous year and the defeat broke their winning streak. The program is in ex-mt condition and has a nice Philip-Morris ad on the back cover.
