Lot 142.  B18 Blanket group of 41 including 16 (of 18) Brown infields. These B18’s are the color variations from the near set offered in Lot 65. Also included are 4 tougher teams (Pitts, St. Louis, Cleveland) and a Walter Johnson (brown bases). The Brown infields are almost all excellent with most ex-mt, the Johnson is nr mt, the balance average excellent.

Lot 143.  B18 Blanket group of 9 including 6 Brown Infields. Brown infields include Demmitt (ex), 2 Mann (ex, vg-ex), 2 Connolly (both ex-mt) and Baker (vg-ex). Others are Hyatt (ex-mt), Boone (ex) and Griffith (vg-ex).

Lot 144.  B18 Blanket group of 27. Nice group with almost all excellent and better. Highlights: Williams, St. L AL — red paths (ex-mt), Chance (ex), Wilson, Pitt.-purple paths (ex+), Griffith, Bos.-brown infield (ex-mt), Maranville (ex+-mt), Chance (ex) and Wheat (vg-ex).

Lot 145.  Four breathtaking E94 Close Caramel cards and 2 extra. All near mint, the group includes Devore, Doolan, Leach and Lord. Only the Lord has a tiny circular stain in the upper right hand corner on the back. There are two additional Devore cards which at first appearance look near mint but a have a light wrinkle.

Lot 146.  Group of 19 Caramel cards highlighted by a beautiful E93 Standard Caramel Tinker. Includes E90-1 Young, Bos. (gd), 3 E91 Mathewson (gd), Donohue (gd-vg), Street (gd); 4 E92 Dockman Chase (vg-ex0, Kleinow (gd), McGraw (vg) and Shean (fair); 3 E93 Tinker (nr mt), Leach (would be ex+-mt except for small gash in card), Griffith (gd); 5 E95 Plank (gd-vg), Cicotte (vg), Willets (vg-ex), Wiltse (poor), Evers (vg), Collins (poor); 2 E97 Carrigan (gd-vg) and Hemphill (gd). Lot 148.  Pittsburgh Pirate lot of 1 Tango Egg, 5 E120 American Caramels and 4 H801-8 Boston Stores. The Tango Egg is McQuillan (ex-mt), the Boston Stores are 10-Baird, 48-Fischer, 105-Mamaux and 152-Schulte (all ex+) and E121’s of Adams, Bigbee, Mokan, Schmidt and Tierney (vg-ex).

Lot 149.  Nice group of 16 M113 Baseball Magazine player supplements and 19 M114 Supplements of teams. The M113’s are in mixed condition with varying degrees of trimming. Hall of Famer include Lajoie and Walsh (full size, but Walsh has a circular piece out of border), Bender, Speaker, Collins and Jennings (trimmed but with borders all around), Marquard (no top border), and McGraw and Plank (Nor borders). The M114 teams include pennant winning teams from 1933 to 1949 including 3 Yankees and 2 Dodgers. The teams average very good condition and the M113’s and poor to very good.

Lot 151.  M116 Sporting Life Group of 6 blue backgrounds including Bender and 4 last series’ rarities. The blue backgrounds include Bender (vg), Donovan (ex), H. Davis (ex), Doyle (ex), D. Jones (ex-mt front, some paper loss on back), Thomas (ex-mt front, small bit of paper loss on back). The rare series cards are Demmitt, Sharpe, Payne and Madden. The first two are ex+-mt, the last two are excellent.

Lot 152.  M116 Sporting Life Hall of Fame group of 5. Includes Young (vg-ex front, back damage) Chance (vg-ex), Flick (vg front, back damage), Jennings (ex) and Wallace (vg).

Lot 153.  M116 Sporting Life group of 14 cards, 13 ex-mt. Includes Bradley, Downey, Doyle, Hofman, Howell, Mattern, McIntire, Mitchell, Ritchie, Rowan, Rucker, Sullivan, Thoney and Willett.

Lot 154.  M116 Sporting Life group of 53 cards. 11 cards are blank backed and are thicker than normal M116’s. They may have been glued to a piece of cardboard or may have been part of a advertising piece. 23 cards are excellent, 10 are very good and 9 are good.

Lot 155.  Incredible offering of 74 M127 Police Gazettes with Ty Cobb, Honus Wagner and 2 different Christy Mathewsons. Issued over the years 1901 to 1917, the group is one of the largest we’ve ever seen offered at auction and comprise almost the entire known checklist as well as some not previously known. Police Gazette supplements usually feature photos that have not been seen elsewhere and there are many players who are not on other cards.   Highlights: Ty Cobb (ex), Walter Johnson (vg), Honus Wagner (ex), two Christy Mathewsons (ex, gd-vg), George Davis (vg-ex), McGraw (trimmed sides, fair), McGinnity (slight trim, ex), Bresnahan (trimmed to picture, poor), Brown (vg-ex), Covaleskie (slight trim, vg), Wheat (vg, piece of tape), Marquard (ex), Chance (vg-ex), Wood (vg-ex), Maranville (trimmed to picture, poor), Collins (vg-ex) and Crawford (corner missing, o/w vg). The Balance are consistent with the above. Many were folded to be inserted in the Police Gazette magazine and have creases. Light creases for the most part were not considered in grading.

Lot 156.  Large lot of 5 S74 Silks, 32 E254 Colgans Chips, 10 PX7 Domino Discs and 18 P2 Sweet Caporal Pins. 65 Items. The S74 Silks: 2 are full colored silks, Wiltse (ex) and Schlei (gd-vg), the others are white without paper backings (o/w ex); The E254 Colgans include Chance (gd-vg). The balance are fair-good with back damage; The Domino Discs include Chance, Collins, Bresnahan, Baker and Brown, all vg-ex, as are the others; The P2 Sweet Caporal Pins include Jennings, Mathewson, Johnson, Evers and Chance. All excellent small letter varieties. The group also include large letters of Herzog and Doyle. All are at least excellent with original pins and paper backing.
