Extremely rare set or near set of 30 Olympians from 1932.

Lot 191. Extremely rare set or near set of 30 Olympians from 1932. Blue tinted set even rarer than the above 1925. Names include Babe Didriksen, Buster Crabbe, Eddie Tolan and Helen Madison. Tolan, nicknamed “The Midnight Express” was the first black athlete to win a gold medal in the Olympics. Since Exhibit sheets were printed in sheets of 16 or 32 cards, it would seem likely there would be two additional cards. However, 16 years of looking have not only not produced the possible missing subjects, but rarely produce any cards at all. The thirty cards include 13 cards with American athletes and the balance are from all over the world. The remarkable set is in ex-mt condition.
