Lot 200. Champion Boston Red Sox 1917 spring Training real photo post card with Babe Ruth. Very rare, possibly on of a kind card commemorating the World’s Champs, shows Ruth and other Red Sox players including Mike McNally, Chuck Shorten, Chet Thomas, Dick Hoblitzell, Clarence Walker and Jack Barry. The players names have been written on the card in ink. Ruth is identified as “Mr. Ruth”. The back of the card, which was not sent through the mail, obviously was meant to, with a meaningful message “Dear Pearlie, Here is a picture of “The World’s Champions” of Boston taken in Laconia, N.H. Mayor Park Munsey presenting the Red Sox with the gold key to the city on ther LakesÉ” Excellent.
