Lot 55. 3 very tough full page woodcuts from the Police Gazette in the '80's. The Oct., 19, 1889 Police Gazette which carries the headline "New York WINS THE PENNANT", shows a beautiful composite of 17 Giants including 6 HOF'ers; The Nov. 10, 1888 issue also carries a full page composite with 20 numbered portraits with 6 HOF'ers. This issue also has a full page song sheet for famous fighter Joe Kilrain. The same Police Gazette also carries a nice woodcut of Tony Mullane in their two column "Baseball Gossip" article. Finally, the April 27, 1895 Police Gazette carries a full page composite of 5 baseball captains - A.C. Anson, G.S. Davis, Buck Ewing, Dave Foutz, and Fred Pfeffer. All are excellent or better and come in complete issues.
