Lot 6. 1871 Burr Pennifield Troy Haymaker Program of Michael McGeary. The first year of the National Association which was in existence from 1871-5 and was followed by the National League. Two National League teams produced scorecards, the Boston team produced the well known Mort Rogers scorecards featuring Boston players and the Troy team players were on the much rarer Burr Pennfield scorecards, two page fold overs with the scorecard inside and a photo of a Troy player on the front cover, and advertising on the rear. They measured 3 3/8 x 5 1/8 closed. McGeary, the Haymaker's catcher is pictured on the card. McGeary played through the National Association and until 1882 in the National League. Excellent condition.
