Complete set of 7 stubs from 1947 Dodgers-Yankees World Series.

Lot 73. Complete set of 7 stubs from 1947 Dodgers-Yankees World Series. An historic World Series because of Jackie Robinson's presence in his rookie year and augmented by two never to be forgotten plays. First, in Game 4 when Bill Bevans had a no hitter and a 2-1 lead going into the ninth inning, which was broken up by Cookie Lavagetto's two run double off the wall and then a remarkable catch by defensive replacement by Al Gionfriddo to rob Joe DiMaggio and preserve a Dodger victory in Game 6 and send the series to a seventh game. Joe DiMaggio homered twice in games 3 and 5. The Game 1 and 2 stubs at Yankee Stadium were torn into the rain check and are gd-vg, the important Games 3, 4 and 5, all at Ebbets Field are minimally excellent. Games 6 and 7 are very good.
