Lot 214.  Lantern Slide with Christy Mathewson advertising Tuxedo Tobacco. Tuxedo Tobacco is well known for their striking display pieces advertising their product which go for thousands of dollars. Offered here is a related item we've never scene before- a 4" x 3 1/4" lantern slide advertising Tuxedo Tobacco with a very clear image of Christy Mathewson. The slide shows the wording "This Concludes the Programme" in red letters on a black background. A portrait of Mathewson is in the lower left and a Tuxedo can is in the lower right with Smoke Tuxedo Endorsed by Matty" in between. The slide obviously concluded a theatre showing. Near mint.

Lot 215.  Jackie Robinson Flip movie with a group of 14 associated photos. This 1950 3" x 2 1/8""Flip Movie" of Jackie Robinson is fairly well known. Of greater interest is the photos accompanying it here. They are real photos and appear to be proofs for the movie. They measure 3 15/16" x 3 1/16". The photos are marked on the rear with numbers from 17 to 30, reflecting the sequence of the photo in the flip movie, which has 32 pictures, Each photo has a set of staple holes in the white area and obviously at one time all the proofs were attached to form the movie. The photos and the Flip Movie are in excellent condition.

Lot 216.  "Cool Papa Bell" painting by Richard Merkin. The original 30" x 17" pastel painting is professionally framed to 32 1/2" x 42 1/2". The painting is the subject of one of the paintings featured in the book Merkin did with Lawrence Ritter "Leagues Apart", the story of "The Men and Times of the Negro Baseball Leagues". The autographed book is included with the painting.
