Lot 253.  Two very rare Baines Co. Circular golf cards - Coombe Hill and Sandwich. Two extremely rare golf cards issued by the Baines Company in England at the turn of the century. Cards were issued in packets of 6 cards with hundreds of subjects. The irregularly shaped cards were meant to be redeemed for sporting gifts and most were resulting in very rare cards. Only 6 were golf and all were in the shape of golf balls and depicted golf courses. The two cards offered here represent the well known Coombe Hill course and the famous Sandwich course over which many a British Open has been played. Both cards are excellent.

Lot 254.  Complete set of circa Golf Stereo views by Keystone View Company with case. A complete numbered set of 50 views. The first ten feature Bobby Jones, the next four feature Horton Smith (1st Masters winner), 1925 U.S. Open winner Willie MacFarlane is on the next six, Gene Sarazen follows on six and U.S. Open Winner Johnny Farrell is on the next 5. Bobby Cruikshank is featured on #'s 32-34 and Leo Diegel on 35-7. MacDonald Smith is on the next two followed by Larry Nabhloz on the next 8 and 1931 U.S. Open winner Billy Burke is on the last 3. Each view card has a description on the back written by Grantland Rice. All are in ex+-mt to near mint condition. The case holder has some wear on the spine and is in good condition.

Lot 255.  1930 U.S. Open Badge at Interlachen from Bobby Jones Grand Slam. Major Golf Tournament Badges from the 1920's are nearly impossible to find. You can multiply that when you're talking about an Open that Bobby Jones won and even more so when it was part of the magical grand slam year. Offered here is a Press Badge with the attached ribbon from 1930 at Interlachen, near Minneapolis, the third leg in the Slam. The badge is in mint condition, the ribbon which are seldom found in any condition on these badges is well worn. A remarkable item.

Lot 256.  1930 Rogers Peet #46 Bill Melhorn SGC 88 NM/MT 8. One of the four golfers in the very rare Rogers Peet issue in 1930. Rogers Peet was a mens clothing store in New York that issued a book with spaces for 48 cards which were distributed four to a sport. All are very rare. Melhorn was a prominent golfer in the 1920's and was a member of the first U.S. Ryder Cup team in 1927. A perfect card.

Lot 257.  Bobby Jones autographed unlined 3 x 5. Beautiful fountain pen signature "Robert T Jones Jr..". Accompanied by a Mastronet COA.

Lot 258.  1949 Walker Cup program autographed by Francis Ouimet and all participants. The 1949 Walker Cup was the 12th meeting of British and American Amateur teams since 1922. In 1949 the United States won for the 11th time. Francis Ouimet, who was a participant on 8 of the previous teams, captained the team for the 6th time. The program contains a two page article by Ouimet entitled "Walker Cup Memories" and inscribed at the top "To Red Run Golf Club. You have sent a grand representative to our Walker Cup team in Chuck Kocsis", and then signed by Ouimet. The centerfold has photos of both teams with the accompanying autographs including Frank Stranahan, Bill Turnesa, 1949 Amateur Champion Charles Coe and the aforementioned Kocsis. Excellent. Lot 259.  1953 US Open Program signed by Ben Hogan. The 1953 U.S. Open at Oakmont marked Ben Hogan's 4th Open victory in 6 years and he didn't even compete in 1949. He went wire to wire, the first time that had happened in 32 years. The 1953 program, in an unusually small format, was one of the toughest of the fifties and shows the U.S. Open trophy. Hogan signed "Ben Hogan" on the base of the trophy. Mike Guiterrez COA.

Lot 260.  Over 76 golf badges of infinite variety. An extraordinary collection of over 90 Badges of all types, sizes and material dating back to the early 19th century. Highlights are a 1947 Seasons Ryder Cup Badge at the Portland Country Club and a 1941 US Open Badge for Surgeon General Adm Ross McIntire from the Colonial CC. Included are Contestant Money clips belonging to Fred Couples, Peter Oosterhuis, Tom Lehman, Mike Holland Haruro Watanabe and Jerry Pate. A detailed listing is available on request.
