Lot 12. 1865-6 Frank Leslies Woodcuts in full issues plus one better Harpers. Two of the most prestigious woodcuts known. The November 4, 1865 Leslies featured a centerfold spread showing the game and players from the Eckford-Atlantic match at the Union grounds in Brooklyn. 20 players, from the area teams are illustrated and in many cases the only pictures known for them. Included are Jim Creighton (baseball's first superstar), Mort Rogers, Jos. Leggett, etc. Also the cover of the July 21, 1966 issue featured the Officers of the National Association of Baseball players including Mort Rogers. Both are excellent. The Harpers from 1885 features a group of baseball's great players (Kelly, Ewing, Ward, O'Rourke, Radbourn, etc) in a full page composite. Also excellent.
