Lot 19. M-unc. 1890 Sporting Times Supplement R.S. Allen. One of the rarest types, an 11" x 7" supplement issued with the short lived weekly Sporting Times newspaper, established to compete with Sporting Life and Sporting News. The Upper right corner of the April 13, 1890 issue shows an ad in the upper right corner noting "WITH PORTRAIT SUPPLEMENT ". On the rare occasion that I've seen a supplement, its always been trimmed. The offered Allen is complete and aside from a couple of minor flaws is in excellent condition. Bob Allen's first year was 1890 and played with Philadelphia for several years.
