Lot 89. Joe DiMaggio Collection of 10 photos. Group of photos, all but one 6 x 8 or larger. Highlights are a stunning ground level picture of DiMaggio about to slide safely across home plate at Washington as the catcher, umpire and nearby cameramen await the final call and a second photo in the company of leggy actress Marlene Dietrich. Another shows Joe in a Boston Red Sox uniform awaiting an exhibition game in Beantown with brother Dom. Another of Joe sliding home as Gehrig looks on in an early 1936 rookie season photo. Other HOFers appear in several of the photos including Feller, Ford, Gehrig and umpire Bill McGowan. Four of the photos show him in civilian clothes.
