Lot 149.  Very rare and unusual Cuban issued set of 1923-4 Tomas Gutierrez premiums for all 16 major league teams. Individual cards from Tomas Guterrez are often seen at auction, however I believe this is the first time these premiums have been brought to auction. There are actually 32 8 1/2" x 12" premiums, 2 composites for each of the 16 teams. The premiums have punch holes on the left side of one and on the right side of the other premium, so when they are in an album and the pages are turned, the entire team can be seen for each team at the same time. The premiums essentially show all major leaguers in 1923 and 1924 which include Ruth, Cobb, Johnson, Speaker, Alexander, Sisler, Mack Frisch, McGraw, Hornsby, Stengel, plus 40 other Hall of Famers . There are also many photos of obscure players which would also be near impossible to find. Overall condition is very good, there are some minor faults, pinholes, etc. The two Red Sox premiums have some restoration done.
Winning Bid $2,420.
