Lot 353. 1948 Bowman Basketball high number variations complete set of 30. Thirty of the 36 card last series of the 1948 Bowman basketball set is known with printing errors (The "play" cards are normal) with either the red color gone or gray backgrounds. These cards are much less common than the regular series and many of the known copies are from discarded sheets which were cut down resulting in irregular cuts. Highlights: 69-Mikan (vg), 38-Jeanette (vg), 54-Palmer (ex), 55-Zaslofsky (vg), 58-Risen (ex-mt, miscut), 66-Pollard (ex+), 72-Braun (vg-ex). Balance: 4 cards ex-mt, 14 cards excellent, 5 cards very good.
