Lot 388.  Group of 140 uncataloged Movie Stars cards. Cards similar in style and size to D1, measuring approximately 3 1/2" x 2" and picturing movies stars from the '20's such as Gloria Swanson, Douglas Fairbanks and George M. Cohan. All in excellent to mint condition.

Lot 390.  Very rare 1945 Dixie Lid Movie Stars sheet. Probably one of a kind, this sheet (in two pieces) depicts Dixie's 1945 Movie Star set of 24 lids. The 1945 war year set is one Dixie's rarest set and this is the only sheet known. The 24 movie stars include Roy Rogers, Bing Crosby, Gabby Hayes, Tex Ritter and child star Bobby Blake, the infamous Robert Blake now, who was Red Ryder's sidekick, "Lil Beaver" then. The movie that they were currently in is shown at the top of the lid. Nineteen of the 24 lids are in mint condition with some wear and creasing affecting 4 lids (Susanna Foster, Jimmy Wakely, Charles Starrett, Jimmy Wakely and Gail Russell. This sheet was made for HOODSIES Ice Cream and its interesting to note the band advertising Hoodsies extends past the dimensions of the lid so that it would be bled to the edge when cut.
