The pencil marks erase very cleanly. Lot 163.  Exhibit Supply Co. 1925 set of 128. A spectacular offering! 1925 and 1926 Exhibit complete sets are rarely offered. The 1925 (and 1926) sets are known for their difficulty compounded by their enormous size which doubled Exhibit's next largest offering in their 46 year history. The set contains the true rookie card of Lou Gehrig in high grade condition. The Gehrig card has gone recently this summer for over $25,000 in SGC EX-MT 6. The one in this offered set is not far behind. Highlights: Alexander (vg-ex front, pencil writing on back), Bancroft (ex), Bottomley (gd), Carey (ex), Cobb (ex front but "Philadelphia" written below name, back has much biographical writing), E. Lot 164.  Exhibit Supply Co. 1926 near set of 127 missing Urban Shocker. Just as tough, if not tougher than the preceding year. This is a beautiful set with a great majority appearing excellent and better on the front. Many have been downgraded because of writing on the back, which ranges from a small, erasable pencil mark to more significant ink writing. Highlights: Bancroft (vg), Bottomley (vg), Carey (vg), Cobb (ex+, cpl light pencil marks on rear), Collins (vg-ex), Combs (vg), Coveleskie (ex+), Cuyler (gd-vg), Frisch (vg-ex), Gehringer (ex+, light pencil mark on rear), Gehrig (ex+, light pencil mark on rear), Goslin (vg-ex), Grimes (vg), Harris (vg), Hartnett (ex), Heilmann (vg-ex), Hornsby (vg-ex), Johnson (ex+, light pencil mark on rear), Lazzeri (vg), Lindstrom (vg-ex), Maranville (vg), Rixey (vg), Rousch (vg), Ruffing (vg), Ruth (ex+, cpl light pencil marks on rear), Sewell (vg), Shalk (ex), Sisler (vg), Speaker (vg-ex), Terry (ex), Traynor (vg) and Wheat (gd). Lot 168.  Exhibit Supply Co. 1931-2 30 Four-in-1 set of 32 (Set 9). Unquestionably the most difficult of the four-in-one exhibit sets. The fact that it contains 32 cards only doubles the difficulty. Don McPherson, a lifelong collector of exhibits, started collecting from the Arcade machines in 1930's and it took him over 65 years to finish this set. Easily recognizable as the only baseball Exhibit set with the Coupon prizes back (though occasionally cards can be found blank backed). The set contains a card of a highly sought Jewish player, J. Goldman of Cleveland, and is the second most valuable card in the set. 16 of the cards have the name "Richard Krotz" written in ink at the top of the rear of the card. These are marked by an "*".
