Beautiful set presented in "card saver" style plastics in 4 pocket black Lighthouse sheets in two quality Lighthouse albums with slipcases. As T206 was the definitive set of the 1910 era and R319 Goudey was the defining set of the thirties, E120 was the defining set of the twenties. There were 120 subjects issued for each league divided equally among the 16 teams. Highlights: Alexander (ex front, back damage), Baker (ex front, back damage), Cob(b) (vg-ex), E. Collins (vg-ex), Coveleskie (ex+), Frisch (ex), Goslin (vg-ex), Grimes (ex-mt, back damage), Hartnett (vg), Heilmann (ex-mt), Hornsby (vg-ex), Hoyt (ex-mt front, back damage), Johnson (vg-ex), Marquard (gd-vg), Rousch (vg), Ruth (vg, corner crease), Sisler (vg-ex), Speaker (ex+), Wheat (vg), Wood (ex), Youngs (gd). Each has a title as printed on the box. The entire set has been graded by SGC and is the best set known. The portrait pose has not been graded higher than vg-ex and and there is no record of any of the action poses being graded. Lot 115.  W501 1922 near set of 117 missing 3. Missing are #'s 11, 23, 35 (all commons). Fifteen cards (9-Vitt, 10-Ruel, 22-Wambnganss, 34-Bush, 46-Sheely, 59-Alexander, 72-Kelly, 82-Grimm, 84-Adams, 91-Holke, 94-Myers, 96-W. Robinson, 109-Smith, 119-Nehf and 120-Fewster) do not have W501's symbolic "G-4-22" in the upper left corner or the number in the upper right corner and therefore are W575's and not W501's. Winning Bid $7,139.

Lot 116.  WG5 National Game set of 50 missing Baker & McLean. Set has obviously been enjoyed as the cards are worn and most have pencil marks (see scan). Fortunately the Jackson is one of six cards without pencil marks. The others are Speaker, Bresnahan and Evers and two game cards. The pencil marks do erase fairly easily. Most of the cards including the Jackson have a light bend and possible crease in the upper left corner. Overall, without the pencil marks, a good-very good set. Winning Bid $750.
