Lot 162.  W600 Sporting Life cabinet, William Coughlin, Washington. Extremely nice excellent+ card that comes with the original glassine protective envelope. The rear of the card has a toning stain at the right side caused by the glassine envelope not covering the entire back. The card of Coughlin was issued only in 1903 as he was traded to Detroit for the 1904 season and the card with Washington is rare.

Lot 163.  Six E98 Anonymous caramels. From the set of 30 includes Bender (vg+, no creases), Chance (fair-good), Chase (fair-good, creases across bottom), Evers (gd-vg, slight 1/4” crease at right and slight off center), Jennings (nice front, spot of paper loss on rear), and McGraw (vg+ appearance, no creases, 2 tiny spots of paper loss on rear).

Lot 164.  9 different T204 Ramlys. Extremely nice lot with 4 cards excellent or better. Cards include Bancroft (excellent), Kleinow (excellent), Donahue (vg-ex), Criger (excellent), Bransfield (vg, tiny corner crease in lower left), Graham (ex-mt), McLean (very good), Schaefer (fair-good, back has a piece of tape remnant and two tape stains) and Lobert (gd-vg). All the backs except Schaefer are clean.

Lot 165.  Group of 21 different T205 Hall of Famers with Johnson, Young, Walsh and Speaker. Details are as follows: Johnson (spot of paper loss at lower right, crease, Polar Bear, fair-good), Young (light crease, small spot of paper loss on rear, Honest back), Walsh (good, Piedmont), Speaker (good, Piedmont), Chance (vg, Sovereign), Marquard (gd,. Piedmont), McGraw (vg, Hassan), Tinker (gd-vg, Sweet Caporal), Wallace with hat (vg, Hassan), Wallace without hat (paper loss, crease, ear, Polar Bear, poor), Bender (tobacco spot, gd-vg, Polar Bear), Clarke (2 tiny creases, gd-vg, Hassan), Jennings (fair, Polar Bear), Bresnahan, mouth closed, fair, Honest), Brown (Interesting top border, appears excellent, probably trimmed, Piedmont), Collins (1910 typed at bottom, o/w vg-ex, Piedmont), Duffy (fair-good, Polar Bear), Griffith (poor, Polar Beach), Wheat (good, Sweet Cap), Baker (trimmed at top, Piedmont) and Huggins (gd-vg, Sweet Caporal).

Lot 166.  6 T200 Fatima Team cards. The group includes Cleveland with Joe Jackson and Nap Lajoie (vg, with 2 pinholes in each corner), Pittsburgh with Honus Wagner (a pinhole at the top, otherwise very good-excellent), Boston AL with Speaker, Hooper & Wood. (very good with fingernail crease along right border), Philadelphia NL with Alexander (very good) and 2 Philadelphia A’s with Mack, Bender, Baker, Collins and Plank. One has a tiny 1/2” tear at the top and is otherwise vg and the other has a magnificent photo with 2 corners creases and 1/4” tear.

Includes Bender/Oldring (trimmed, poor), Dougherty Lord (vg), Woodruff/Williams (ex), Wiltse/Merkle (ex), Titus/Dooin (ex), Semour/Dygert (ex), Rucker/Dygert (ex-mt), Miller/Herzog (vg-ex), McBride/Elberfeld (ex), Mattern/Graham (vg), Leach/Gibson (good), LaPorte/Stephens (ex), Hickman/Hinchman (good), Ford/Johnson (vg) and Chase/Sweeney (ex).

Lot 168.  Rare T206 Heine Wagner, Boston with printing error. The card of Wagner is missing almost all the red color. A faint image of the red “B” on the cap and the “BO” from Boston can be seen. Card has a crease and is a Piedmont 150 back.

Lot 169.  Group of 8 T206 Hall of Famers. Group includes Mathewson, black cap (vg-ex), Crawford, throwing (very good), McGinnity (good), Lajoie, throwing (ex), Walsh (excellent), Willis, throwing (ex-mt), Waddell, throwing (ex) and Griffith, batting (gd-vg). The Mathewson is 3/16” short and may be trimmed. The others measure correctly.
Winning Bid $1,171.


Lot 170.  Group of 26 T206’s, almost all are in apparent excellent or better condition and a Topps T206 Buyback. Some of the T206’s may be slightly trimmed, though we could only find two (McElveen and Clark) that measured less than the accepted 2 5/8". All of the cards are Sweet Caporal except for McElveen and Stephens. 18 of the cards are at least excellent and there are several better factory variations in the cards.

Lot 171.  Unusual lot of 26 rejected T205’s and T206's with rarities and Hall of Famers. There are 11 T205’s and 15 T206’s. T205’s consist of Tinker, rarities Batch, Kleinow, Karger, Wagner and an encapsulated Gray (“A”) with stats on the back variation. The only one that measures less than 2 5/8” is Batch. All but 2 included their SGC (one GAI) rejection tags. The T206’s include 9 “A” encapsulated cards including 2 Southern Leaguers (Violat & McCauley). The balance of T206’s include 5 Hall of Famers (Joss, Marquard, Clark, Griffith and Flick). All the T206’s measure the correct 2 5/8”. All the raw T206’s include their SGC rejection tags.

Includes Bender (fr-gd), Bresnahan (poor), Carey (fr-gd), Chance (good), Hooper (poor), Johnson (fair), Marquard (fr-gd), McGraw (PSA PR-FR 1, nice appearance, minor small stains on rear), McKechnie (good), Speaker (SGC 10 POOR 1, nice looking car\d with a horizontal crease and some back damage), Tinker (gd-vg), Wallace (very good) and Wheat (vg appearance, back damage at top).

Lot 171c.  Balance of 135 T207 mostly common Recruit backs including 6 graded. The group includes several rare cards with Recruit backs and some tougher varieties. Highlights: Both Jimmy Austin cards with St.L (gd) and without (fr-gd), both Ray Fisher with Blue Cap (fr-gd), with White Cap (vg), tough Peaches Graham (good), John Henry (vg), Paddy Livingston with large “A” (fair) and with small “c” (fair). A. Marsans (gd-vg), George Mullin with “D” on cap (fr-gd), without “D” (vg) and Zeider (SGC 3). Balance: 4 cards excellent, 26 cards very good, 24 cards good-very good, 32 cards good, 14 cards fair-good, 15 cards fair, 8 cards poor. Lot 172.  Stars of Baseball American and National League Albums for E120 American Caramels. Each measuring 11" x 11” and made of black construction paper. Each book has written in gold leaf “Stars of Baseball Album, American (or National) League, Set of 120 Leading Players, 15 in each of the 8 teams and the American Caramel Company, Lancaster and York, PA”. Inside are 4 pages with the players arranged on both sides in 3 rows of five with their names below a box to place the card. Virtually never seen anymore, both books are near mint.

Lot 173.  Nice group of 15, mostly Caramel cards with 11 E121’s 1 E122, 1 W575, 1 E145 and 1 E95. The Cracker Jack is the 144 series #133-Rickey, The tough E122 is Jacobson (vg), the E95 is Hoffman (ex, o/c) (good) and the W575 is Rixey (fair). The 11 E121’s contain 5 Hall of Famers Bancroft (vg-ex), Baker (vg), Carey (good), Hooper (vg) and Speaker (vg-ex). The balance of 6 E121’s are vg-ex without creases except for 1 which is fair. All the E121’s are from the Series of 80.

Lot 174.  6 Rare R310 Butterfingers Merchants Advertising cards. The 1934 Butterfingers set of 64 (plus a variation) are usually found on a very thin paper stock. Less known, and much rarer are a group of 11 subjects found on a thick cardboard stock, with a red advertising overprint along the top with Butterfinger’s logo. These are known to be advertising inserts used by the storekeeper to stand upright in the Candy boxes. Since they weren’t actually offered to the public, their rarity is easy to understand. Offered here are 6 of the 11 as follows: Bartell (vg, stain in lower left borders), Boyle (vg, light stain in lower border), Carleton (near excellent), Frey (vg, light stain at top left border and a chip), O'Farrell (vg, light stain in lower border), and Swetonic (vg-Ex, tiny stain in upper corners). Very nice looking group.
