Lot 277.  Spalding Basketball Guide collection of 34 (1905 to 1941). Two different guides were issued annually until 1916, when the NCAA, AAU and YMCA agreed on common rules. This excellent collection features amateur guides from 1906, 1907, 1914 (all Ex with tape on spine or covers) and 1915 (no covers, spine tape); collegiate guides from 1910, 1911, 1912, 1913, 1915 (Ex or better except 1910 has no back cover); Guides from 1916, 1917 (both Ex), 1920, 1921 (both Vg), 1922-25 (mostly Vg-Ex, 1923 no back cover); 1926-1941 (all Ex, 1926 & 1930 have no rules, 1937-39 small tape on spine).

Lot 278.  Barnes, NCAA & AAU Basketball Guide collection of 46 (1942-1986). A complete run of Basketball Guides from 1942 through 1981 plus the 1941 AAU Guide, The 1955 edition is a record book, which is the same as the guide, but without the rules section. (To my knowledge the NCAA did not issue a guide with rules in 1955), plus record books for 1981, 82, 84-86. Outstanding condition with the nine Barnes Guides (1942-1950) at least Excellent and NCAA books (1951-1986), Excellent to Ex+-Mt. Detailed list with conditions available on request.

Lot 279.  A chronology of 25 Items, mostly programs from Wilt Chamberlains first year at Kansas University including the historic final four game. An incredible collection of mostly programs (21), chronicling one of the more historic years in College Basketball history. Kansas (24-2) played North Carolina (31-0) in the NCAA tournament final and lost by a point in triple overtime in what many consider the famous tournament’s signature game. The final game program is in excellent condition as is everything else in the collection. Put together from a student at the school and maintained for over 50 years. In a loose leaf binder with each item in a separate plastic sheet. An itemized list of all items is available on request.

Lot 280.  1961-2 Fleers Basketball complete set of 66 with a graded Chamberlain. A beautiful ex-mt to near mint set with the erratic centering the set is known for. The high value Chamberlain which appears to be near mint or better was graded a 6. Highlights: 3-Baylor (nr mt), 8-Chamberlain (SGC 80 EX/NM 6), 10-Cousy (nr mt), 36-Robertson (ex-mt), 38-Russell (nr mt, o/c), 43-West (nr mt, no border at right), 47-Chamberlain IA (ex-mt), 62-Russell IA (nr mt, o/c), 66-West IA (nr mt).

Lot 281.  1969-70 Topps Basketball set of 99 and 1970-71 Topps Basketball set of 176. Both sets are near mint but at one time were mounted in albums with photo mounts, which have left slight impressions. 1969-70 Highlights: 1-Chamberlain (nr mt, slight mount impression), 20-Havlicek (nr mt, very slight mount impression in one corner), 90-West (ex+-mt), 99-Checklist (good-very good). 1970-71 Highlights: 10-Havlicek (nr mt), 50-Chamberlain (nr mt, slight mount impression), 75-Alcindor (nr mt, slight mount impression), 123-Maravich (ex+-mt) 160-West (nr mt).

Lot 282.  1984-85 Star Co. set of 288, includes four SCD graded cards. Offered early in 1985 in limited quantities and were bought by our consignor at that time. They were graded shortly after SCD started grading cards. Four key cards were graded as follows: The key card of #101 Michael Jordan was graded an EX/NM+ 6.5, #195 Jordan is a NM 7, #202 Charles Barkley is a NM+ 7.5 and #237 Olajawon is a NM/MT 8. The balance of the set is essentially near mint or better as issued.

Lot 283.  1986-7 and 1987-8 Fleer Basketball Sets of 132 with a very high graded Jordan. Both sets are near mint to mint. 1986-7 Highlights: 57-Jordan (SGC nr mt-mt+ 8.5), 68-Malone (nr mt-mt), 109-Thomas (nr mt-mt), 121-Wilkens (nr mt-mt), 132-Checklist (nr mt-mt). 1987-8 Highlights: 59-Jordan (nr mt-mt), 25-Alcindor (nr mt-mt), 90-West (nr mt-mt).
