Lot 295.  1 N332 S.F. Hess Boxing card and 3 N310 Mayo. The extremely rare S.F. Hess is John J Scholes. There is a light horizontal crease on the bottom half of the card. Photo quality is excellent and the back is clean. The 3 Mayos are Solly Smith (fair-good), Jim Daley (very good, small stain on rear) and J. Van Heest (good, o/c).

Lot 296.  19 N28 & N29 Allen & Ginters including 8 Boxers. The 1st series N28’s includes 4 fighters – Mitchell (vg), Kilrain (vg+), Muldoon (vg) and Carney (ex+). The others are Buffalo Bill (fair-good), Carver (vg, spot of paper loss on back); The N29 fighters are LaBlanche, Murphy, Havlin and McGee. All are very good. The other N29’s are Hill, East, Slocum (vg) and Ives and Wood (fair-good).

Lot 297.  1892 N266 Lorillard Boxing incredible group of 20 different for their Red Cross Brand. A near set missing only 5 cards, the group is high lighted by Corbett-Sullivan (good), Jackson-Slavin (gd), Kilrain-Smith (good) and Mitchell-Burke (vg). The balance includes 1 card excellent, 6 cards very good, 7 cards good, 1 card fair and 1 card poor. All the backs except one are clean without paper loss or writing.

Lot 299.  T219 Honest Long Cut near set of 45 cards, missing 5. The missing cards are Klaus, Langford, Oran, Neil and O’Brien. Highlights: Attell (ex), Johnson (ex, minor tobacco stain on front), Jefferies (ex). Balance: 34 cards excellent (a few are ex-mt), 8 cards very good.

Lot 300.  Very rare T219 Red Cross Owen Moran. Incredibly rare back variation on the T219 set. The Red Cross is one of three backs on the T219 sets and is the one that’s virtually never seen. The card of Moran has some light creasing on the front and a minor stain on the otherwise clean rear.

Lot 301.  T220 Mecca Set of 50 Prizefighters and 22 of the very rare silver border variations. A total of 72 cards. The White Border set is in very nice condition and the silver borders are in top condition. White Border Highlights: Corbett (ex), Dempsey (ex+), Joe Gans (ex+), Jackson (ex-mt), Sullivan (ex+), Sullivan & Kilrain (ex+). Balance: 6 cards ex-mt, 25 cards excellent, 11 cards very good, 2 cards good. The 22 T220 Silver Borders are all ex-mt or better and are among the best we’ve seen.

Lot 302.  Collection of 32 1910 T224 Kopec Cigarette cards and T229 Pet Cigarettes including 21 boxers. There are 5 cards from the very difficult Kopec set, including 3 boxers and 27 cards from the even more difficult Pet including 18 very desirable boxers. There is one duplicate T229 of Bob Fitzsimmons. The two scans show all of the cards. The three boxers in the T224 Kopec are Monte Attell (fair), Battling Nelson (gd-vg) and Jonnie Frayne (gd-vg). The other Kopecs are Willard (vg) and Gibson (gd). The boxers in the very rare T229 Pet are John L. Sullivan (near vg), T.Burns (gd), Hanlon (gd), Wolgast (poor), F.Burns (vg), Hyland (fair), Corbett (vg), Jefferies (gd), Kauffman (gd), Kelly (gd), 2 Fitzsimmons (vg, fair), McCarthy (gd), Frayne (gd-vg), Choynski (fair), Driscoll (vg), Flynn (fair) and Moran (gd-vg). The non-boxing T229 Pets are Wood (gd), Curtiss (vg), Davidson (vg), Longboat(gd), Leary (gd), Latham (gd), King (gd-vg), Ward (vg), Brookins fair). A remarkable lot of 31 cards with 21 boxers, rarely seen grouping in mixed condition. Several of the cards have a small purple mark from a rubber stamp put on at the time of printing.

Lot 303.  T225 Khedivial Boxing Issues. Series 101, Set of 25 and Series 102, group of 7 cards. The Series 101 set is in extraordinary condition with half the cards ex-mt or better. Highlights: Attell (ex), Jefferies (vg). Balance: 12 cards ex-mt or better, 3 cards excellent, 5 cards very good. 3 cards good. The backs are all Khedivial or variations thereof, except for 3, which are the tougher Surbrug backs. Series 102 cards are as follows: Beebe (ex), Ty Cobb (vg), Corbett (gd-vg), Devlin (vg), Langdon (vg-ex), Willetts (vg) and Young Ritchie (ex+).

Lot 304.  1910 T225 Khedivial "Prizefighters" Second Series (Series 102) set of 25 different. The much more difficult sequel. 12 cards are excellent, 9 cards are very good and 4 cards are good.

Lot 305.  1910 T226 Red Sun "Pugilistic Subjects". A very rare grouping of 8 cards including one duplicate in unusually nice condition. The group includes Jimmy Gardner (excellent), Bert Keyes (excellent), Phillip McGovern (fr-gd), Owen Moran (excellent), Tommy O’Keefe (excellent + and fair-good), Jim Stewart (ex-mt), and Jimmy Walsh (vg-ex).

Lot 306.  E75 American Caramels set of 20. Above average condition set. Highlights: Sullivan (ex+ front, hinge mark on rear), Attell (vg), Jefferies (ex), Johnson (vg+), Corbett (vg). Balance: 10 very good, 4 good, 2 fair.

Lot 307.  8 1910 E77 American Caramel. From the tough set of 24. 8 cards including Kaufman (gd), Lewis (gd-vg), Jack Johnson & Kaufman (fr-gd), Burns (gd), McFarland (fr-gd), Nelson & Wolgast (fr-gd), Papke (gd-vg) and Hackenshmidt (fair). All have clean backs except the last which has some back damage.

Lot 308.  E79 Philadelphia Caramels “27 Scrappers” set of 21 cards including 7 very rare red print backs. Extremely tough set to put together featuring the 19 checklisted subjects on the rear of each card and two others showing the right and wrong way to make a clenched fist. The set is in very nice good condition for a caramel set with virtually no creases and clean backs. Highlights: Attell (vg-ex), James Jefferies (good, light hor. crease, red print back), Jack Johnson (vg+, red print back), Sharkey (ex), Johnson and Burns (vg, red print back), Jack Johnson and Cole (vg+). The other red print backs are Jack O’Brien & fighting partners (vg), Rawlins... (vg-ex), Kaufman & Sullivan (vg) and the 2 Arm and Clenched Fist cards (vg-ex).

Lot 309.  1948 Leaf beautiful condition set of 49 complete plus one variation with six key cards SGC graded. Highlights: 1-Jack Dempsey (SGC 50 VG/EX 4), 25-Jack Johnson (ex+-mt), 32-Abe Attell (nr mt), 35-Jefferies (vg, pinhole), 48-Joe Louis (SGC 80 EX/NM 6), 55-Corbett (nr mt), 63-Fitzsimmons (nr mt. o/c), 64-Ray Robinson (SGC 84 NM 7), 73-Tunney (SGC 80 EX/NM 6), 93-Baer (nr mt), 101-Sullivan (SGC 80 EX/NM 6), 102-LaMotta (SGC 80 EX/NM 6). Balance: Almost all near mint with note to some of the printing defects that exist in this issue. The variation card has Arturo Godoy on the front (badly off-center, with a corner crease) and an #88-Lou Ambers back.
