A letter on Time Life Stationery is stapled to the inside front cover explaining the magazine and its goals. The second “Dummy” issue was five months later in April 1954 and shows a golf scene at the Cypress Point golf course. The word “Dummy” is in large block letter at the top of the front cover and it consists of 132 pages. Finally, the first real issue in its original mailing envelope was issued 3 months later on August 16, 1954 with the famous shot of Eddie Mathews batting on the cover.
