Lot 209. 1909 W.M. Dick Accordion style postcard of the Champion Pittsburgh Pirates. One of the greatest baseball postcards ever made. The front states “Extension Post Card” with the used address portion on the right. The left shows Pirate Manager and Left Fielder Fred Clarke and is postmarked “Pittsburgh, Mar 8, 1910, some 5 months after the Pirates World Series victory. The rear shows a familiar scene of Forbes Field. The inside, which can be opened in a variety of ways shows 17 other panels with Pirates, including of course, Honus Wagner. It is the ultimate metamorphic post card. A small flap which extended from the Clarke panel is loose. The card is very good on the outside and excellent inside.
